The church Saint-André is the oldest church in Angoulême, built in the th century. It was the chapel of the counts Taillefer who had their palaces just opposite. This church suffered numerous damage during the Hundred Years War and religious wars. It was completely restored in the th century. His style is a mixture of novel, Gothic and neo-classical, making it an atypical building. More recently, in 1999, the cartoon writer Yslaire painted a wall in contempt, which also worth a detour.
