Read moreThe museum of the Archaeological and Historical Society of the Charente has existed since 1845 and has changed its place several times, it is now and since the post-war street of Montmoreau, in the house of Jean George who remains its residence at the Archaeological and Historical Society of the Charente. The collection is for most gifts and legacies, making it an atypical museum, as the Renaissance curiosity firms could be. You will find a beautiful collection of enamels, but also objects and remains of all the periods of which the statue of the goddess Epona found in Rouillac. Through loans made for exhibitions or museums, society contributes to the cultural dynamism of the department.
