POLE SANTE
Read moreFounded in 1804, it is the oldest higher education institution in Amiens. And what importance, since this is where future doctors and pharmacists are trained, who tomorrow cures and distriburont health and medicine advice. Students of the two filiaires, who, as elsewhere, over the years, are becoming fewer and fewer, share premises in downtown, such as most amiénoises faculties, halfway through the two North and south university hospitals.
POLE SCIENCES
Read moreA good practice to take advantage of the city after the end classes, the premises welcome the Faculty of Sciences and IUP PVIA (Vegetable Productions and Agro-Food Industries) and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer science, the IUP Section Electrical Engineering and finally the IUP MIAGE (Applied Computing Method of Enterprise Management). However, by virtue of its seniority, the pole is not aesthetically aesthetic, and some courses take place in rooms that are seriously peeling (painting paint, tables that keep just standing…). But this is the daily lot of many students in France.
CENTRE REGIONAL DES ŒUVRES UNIVERSITAIRES ET SCOLAIRES
Read more. is an important player in student life. A lot of information to take in the areas of housing, work, culture and tourism. In particular, the Residence manages the 25 amiénoises university residences where close to 4 000 students reside. At its premises, free Internet access terminals are available to students and social assistants to assist them in all their administrative processes, such as, for example, scholarship applications.
FACULTE D’ECONOMIE ET DE GESTION
Read moreThe university offers a wide range of courses in banking, organization and regional management. The school has around 1,200 students and a teaching staff comprising 22 teacher-researchers, 7 secondary school teachers, 2 PASTs, 5 ATERs, 2 LRU contracts and 2 contract PhD students, as well as 56 part-time teachers and professional contributors. U.F.R. d'Economie et de Gestion is also involved in research with CRIISEA (Centre de Recherche sur les Institutions, l'Industrie et les Systèmes Economiques d'Amiens) and LEFMI (Laboratoire d'Economie, Finance, Management et Innovation).
THE CITADELLA
Read moreIt is at the crossroads of several districts, in one of the historical places of the city, that part of the University Picardie Jules Verne is established. The Citadelle is now the heart of the UPJV in the city. More than 5,000 students come to learn in an exceptional site that covers more than 13 hectares. The architectural structure has survived the centuries: it served as a place of resistance and was used as a garrison until 1979. Since then it has been completely abandoned and closed to the public. The new student centre was designed by Renzo Piano, the famous architect who built the Centre Georges-Pompidou.
FACULTE DES ARTS
Read moreIn the past, the Faculty of Arts was located in the heart of the city centre, in the Logis du Roy, a historic building built in 1565. Needless to say, the setting was ideal. The art students therefore found it difficult to accept the move of the faculty in 2003, to the area of the former Amiens dye works. On this site, modern, functional, but more impersonal, we also find the Ecole Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD). This rapprochement has been thought out with the aim of offering common courses or equivalences between modules. The faculty trains students in the many artistic fields: acting, directing, photography, stage management, etc.
