Every year since 2002, the castle of Montaner celebrates its Medievals during a whole weekend. Hundreds of artists and extras come together in a medieval setting to offer the public a most authentic show. During these two days, young and old alike can discover the campsites, old games, crafts, gastronomy or dance, as well as learn, for example, calligraphy, dance, archery, crossbow, horse riding, swordfighting... There are many reconstructions. The objective is to tell the story of Gaston Phébus and to recreate the decor of his time by recalling the historical context. A pyrotechnic show is usually held on the last evening to close Les Médiévales en beauté! Fans of medieval history but also lovers of beautiful shows will find something to their liking. One of the events not to be missed in Béarn, between history and tradition!
