NOBLIA BRIDGE
Contemplation of the old Noblia Bridge in Bidarray, witness to the history of pilgrims on their way to Compostela.
The old pink Noblia Bridge, with its three arches, dates back to the 14th century. It spans the Nive, a tributary of the Adour river that flows into the ocean. It is one of the oldest bridges in the Basque Country, dating back to the 14th century. The bridge's construction was prompted by the need to provide safe passage for the increasing numbers of pilgrims travelling to Compostela on this ancient route. It is listed as a Monument Historique in its entirety, measuring 55 m in length and less than 4 m in width.
