We almost enter Basse-Navarre when we arrive at Bidarray after having descended the Nive from Cambo and Itxassou. The Nive that crosses it, gives all its importance to this village with a mountainous face, situated in a cirque constituted by the Baigura, the Artzamendi and the crests of the Iparla. The history of Bidarray begins in the 12th century when a commandery was built (the pilgrims of Santiago passed through this village). It is necessary to go up to reach the church of pink sandstone. At the top of the village, discover the central square, its fronton and the superb Roman bridge Noblia which spans the Nive, playground for rafting and kayaking amateurs.
