A museum showcasing the rich history of Biarritz, with a particular focus on the city's main eras.
The museum was born in the grounds of St. Andrew's Church. The first stone was laid by Queen Frederika of Hanover. Inaugurated in 1986 by the Association des amis du Musée Historique de Biarritz, it plunges you into the city's rich history, and more particularly into its 3 main eras: the Middle Ages, the 19th century, marked by the imperial family, the First World War, the Roaring Twenties with their sumptuous receptions given by English, Russian and Spanish families, the Second World War, thermalism... The association continues its investigations with a single aim: to research, preserve and exhibit all items relating to local history, both ancient and recent, in order to raise awareness of the past and support or undertake any action to safeguard movable and immovable property.
To the delight of Biarrots, Basques and tourists alike, the museum has been renovated and restored to its former glory, with thematic islands, a clear, easy-to-understand itinerary, and plenty of light and brightness to make it a place not to be missed. Digital archives can be consulted online on the museum's website. Exhibitions, conferences and concerts are organized throughout the year, as well as guided tours of Biarritz's neighborhoods and city center with historian Jean-Loup Ménochet, every Saturday morning and on request. You can also support the 400-strong Association of Friends of the Biarritz Historical Museum.

Opening time and information on MUSÉE HISTORIQUE DE BIARRITZ
Open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 12:30pm and from 2pm to 6:30pm. July/August: from 10am to 1pm and from 2:30pm to 6:30pm from Tuesday to Saturday. Free until 12 years old. Adult : 6 €. Students/disabled persons: 4 €, job seekers: 3 €. Audioguide in French, Basque, English, Spanish: 2 €. Groups + 10 people: 5 €/person, outdoor guided tours: 8 €/person, members: reduced rate.

Si vous vous intéressez à l'histoire tes anciennes la ville, cela est plus pour vous.
Heureusement une vidéo permet de mieux comprendre les grandes thématiques de l'histoire de Biarritz.
J'ai tout de même appris plein de choses sur cette ville superbe !
