This municipality is home to a rich natural and cultural heritage. The presence of water was at the origin of its development from the Middle Ages to the middle of the 19th century. As early as the 14th century, ponds were created to promote fish farming. In the mid-19th century, the construction of the canal and all the engineering structures necessary for its proper operation helped to shape the current landscape. During the Second World War, the destruction in the central part of the village caused a change in its appearance.
