It is on an old meander of dried Saulx that the village of Stainville has built. We will note its th century castle, which once was a medieval fortress, reworked to the Renaissance, as well as the church Saint-Mathieu, whose surprising gargoyles keep the portal. A statue of Napoleon recalls the passage of the Emperor in 1859 to the town.
