Since 1988, the Fortification Museum of Montmédy has had the mission of promoting the exceptional military architectural heritage of the Meuse. You will discover, between prehistory and the 18th century, a multitude of defensive systems and the ingenuity of man. A tour through models, old weapons, aerial views of the fortified sites of the department. Among the rare items: swords from the 11th century and the first written work on fortification.

Superbe, accueillant, historique. La citadelle est un véritable havre de paix. Il y de si beaux paysages.

installé dans la citadelle au premier étage du musée Jules Bastien-Lepage, il retrace l'évolution de la fortification et de l'architecture militaire dans le département de la Meuse. on y trouve également des maquettes et des armes anciennes.
