Things to see and do Montmédy

The construction of St Bernard's church of Mabille Street dates back to the th century. It was first a chapel, which was aggrandie in 1729. In 1824, the architect Meusien Dubois and entrepreneur Jean-Baptiste Cellars worked the facade. The church then suffered the damage of time until the architect Michel and the entrepreneur André Manceaux were charged in 1964 to restore and modernize it. The annexes are original. The architectural style of the ensemble reflects the influence of artistic currents in the th century: the simplicity of the straight lines of the building, that of columns and ornaments that encradent doors and windows, highlights the exhubérance of the steep roofs of slate and their richly decorated windows. The castle, also filled with a garden, has been classified as a historic monument since 1990.
