A convent steeped in history, with a timeless charm, where you can visit the cellars and taste the estate's wines.

Jean Jean acquired the property in 1902, and it is today his great-great-grandson, Xavier, who perpetuates the tradition of this Grand Cru Classé in organic farming. A visit to the Couvent des Jacobins is truly an opportunity to go back in time in this place full of history and timeless charm. After visiting the monolithic cellars of the domain, you can taste the wines of the property in the old bakery of the Dominicans which was built in 1389. And also? A tuk-tuk ride in the vineyards, a picnic in the garden...

Absolutely splendid tour! Well worth getting up early, post our friend’s wedding celebration, to view the cellars and wine-making process. Xavier was truly accommodating, supplying our group with both French and English translations, and invaluable knowledge. The wine tasting at the end of their three labels was highly appreciated! Recommend to all those in the area!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Couvent des Jacobins in the picturesque village of St. Émilion, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the personal touch and warm hospitality that defined my visit. The owner himself welcomed us and provided an in-depth winery tour, effortlessly switching between French and English to accommodate all guests. This bilingual tour was both informative and engaging, giving us a comprehensive understanding of the vineyard’s rich history and winemaking process.

The wines at Couvent des Jacobins are exceptional, showcasing the unique terroir of St. Émilion. Each tasting was a journey through nuanced flavors and expertly crafted blends. The owner’s passion for winemaking was evident, and his willingness to share stories and insights added a personal dimension to the visit.

What truly set this experience apart was the owner’s genuine care and attention to detail. Whether it was answering questions, offering tasting tips, or simply sharing a laugh, his accommodating nature made the visit feel like a special, tailor-made experience.

Couvent des Jacobins is a must-visit for any wine enthusiast. The combination of exquisite wines, a rich history, and the owner’s exceptional hospitality creates a memorable and enriching experience. I can't recommend it highly enough!
