On Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, the bastide town of Libourne comes alive to the rhythm of the open-air market. From 8am to 12:30pm, traders take over the pretty Place Abel Surchamp and adjacent streets. Particularly popular with the Bordelais, the Sunday market is still the biggest and liveliest. The Halle de Libourne, adjacent to the open-air market, is temporarily closed due to a fire on the night of September 2, 2023. As the seasons go by, other markets and events take place in the heart of Libourne.
