Visit of an abbey, founded in the 12th century by Nicolas d’Estouteville, with a Renaissance-style church in Valmont.

Founded in the 12th century by Nicolas d'Estouteville, lord of Valmont, the abbey underwent many destructions and reconstructions before taking on its definitive Renaissance appearance in the 17th century. Dissolved after the French Revolution, the abbey became the home of private individuals, including Eugène Delacroix, who painted here and left a decorative motif above the portal, made from fragments of old stained glass. In 1994, the abbey returned to its original vocation, welcoming the Benedictine nuns of Notre-Dame-du-Pré de Lisieux.
