This abbey, founded in 1079, and the church of Saint-Pierre are listed as a World Heritage Site by Unesco, as part of the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela. Remarkable sculptures, capitals hiding exceptional creatures... This jewel of Romanesque architecture is a must-see in the Entre-deux-Mers region. You'll travel back in time as you listen to your guide's palaver. To reach the bell tower, you'll have to climb 157 steps.

Opening time and information on ABBEY OF THE SAUVE-MAJEURE

Open all year round. Opening days and times vary according to season. Closed on January 1, Easter Monday, May 1 and December 25. Free admission for children under 18 (+ disabled person and accompanying adult, unemployed person, etc.). Adults: €6 (+€2 with wine tasting at the Maison des Vins). Combined ticket with Château ducal de Cadillac: €9. Free admission on the first Sunday of the month from November to March. Vacation vouchers. Parking along the abbey wall and Place Saint-Jean. Bookshop. Toilets (not accessible to people with reduced mobility). Dogs allowed on leash.
