Graville Abbey in Le Havre features a church with a Gothic nave and remnants of convent buildings.
An independent commune, Graville did not become part of Le Havre until 1919. The fief belonged to a companion of William the Conqueror. Rewarded by the new King of England, Guillaume Malet had a Romanesque abbey built in the 12th century, on the site of a former hermitage. Built in Romanesque (nave) and Gothic (choir) styles, the church, nestled in a verdant setting, overlooks the abbey cloister, surrounded by the former chapter house and remnants of the conventual buildings. Near the small cemetery, the Black Madonna dominates the entrance to the town.
