Bell tower of the magnificent 15th century gothic cathedral, which can be visited to discover a superb view of Bordeaux.
The Tour Pey-Berland is the cathedral's bell tower, erected between 1440 and 1466. This flamboyant Gothic edifice was built in the 15th century (circa 1370-1458), and owes its name to Archbishop Pey-Berland, the architect of the revival of the Church in Aquitaine, which had previously been under English domination. The visit is superb, but requires a good level of fitness, as you have to climb the 229 steps of a spiral staircase to discover the belfry's framework, the four bells and the exceptional view of Bordeaux and its monuments. The view is well worth the effort!

A voir, photographier et visiter absolument.
Il faut faire la queue à l'entrée car les escaliers sont très étroits. donc le nombre de visiteurs à monter en même temps est limité.
