Bell tower of the magnificent 15th century gothic cathedral, which can be visited to discover a superb view of Bordeaux.
The Tour Pey-Berland is the cathedral's bell tower, erected between 1440 and 1466. This flamboyant Gothic edifice was built in the 15th century (circa 1370-1458), and owes its name to Archbishop Pey-Berland, the architect of the revival of the Church in Aquitaine, which had previously been under English domination. The visit is superb, but requires a good level of fitness, as you have to climb the 229 steps of a spiral staircase to discover the belfry's framework, the four bells and the exceptional view of Bordeaux and its monuments. The view is well worth the effort!

Staff was friendly, ticket was booked online (for a certain time frame).
We came because it was included in the bordeaux pass and would recommend it if you want to have a view over the city
