Discover a Roman town buried between the Eyre and Eygat rivers at Biganos.
Did you know that a Roman town was buried somewhere between the Eyre and Eygat rivers? In the5th century, Boii was the seat of a bishop. His church was there, but he also had a residence in Andernos, the ruins of which can be seen near the church on the beach. This old church lived on for some time, then was replaced by a new church which functioned as a parish church with its associated cemetery until 1971. The tourist office no longer organizes tours of the site.
