Discover the sumptuous Arcachon Casino, a building inspired by the Alhambra and Cordoba.

This model will give you an idea of the greatness of Arcachon as a popular tourist resort in the 19th century. Built in 1863 by the Compagnie des chemins de fer du Midi, the casino was designed by the architect Paul Régnauld. Motifs from the Alhambra, the Mosque of Cordoba and the Alcazar of Toledo are reproduced on the facades. Topped by two domes of 7 m in diameter and towering 25 m above the Summer City, one can imagine the sumptuousness of the building. The casino burned down in 1977.
