In the 18th century, wealthy farming families formed the majority of the village's bourgeoisie. Among them were the Peugeots, a branch of which soon left the village to find the destiny we all know in "la Vallée". The Pays de Montbéliard only became part of France definitively in 1792.Most of its old farmhouses date from 1860 to 1890, a period of great industrial expansion.During the Second World War, a maquis based in the forest near the Parcours carried out effective sabotage, contributing to the epic story of the Ecot maquis. The Pont Sarrazin and its legend now invite walkers to enjoy a pleasant stroll.
