In Terrasson, there is a real chocolate craftsman who goes to visit cocoa plantations, who is open to fair trade, it is Valter Bovetti. He has created a chocolate museum and a direct sales shop. A greenhouse in which cocoa trees grow wonderfully transports us to the tropics. In the museum, you can learn all about the history of cocoa from the Mayas to the great European courts, as well as about the manufacture of chocolate and its complete journey from the plantation to processing. In the fully glazed production workshop you can see the work of the chocolate makers and the copper turbine room where the oldest coating technique is used to make the enrobes. You will discover more than 150 different kinds of bars with different flavours, including white chocolate with raspberry chips, dark chocolate with Espelette chilli, dried fruit or milk chocolate with caramel and salt, and even chocolates for aperitifs. There is a wide range of organic fair trade chocolate, and even chocolate with no added sugar. For nearly 20 years, Bovetti has been making a spread by crushing hazelnuts with cocoa butter. The chocolate factory also makes chocolate-based beauty treatments for the cosmetics company Sothys. At the end of the visit, the children make a chocolate mould which they take home with the original mould which they can then reuse. Tasting for all.

Open all year round. The shop is open the same days as the museum. It closes at 12:00 in the morning and 18:00 in the evening. Monday to Saturday from 10am to 11am and from 2pm to 5pm. Summer and December: open on Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Free until 3 years old. Adults: 3,90 €. Children (from 3 to 12 years old) : 3,40 €. Group (20 people): 3,20 €. Tourism & Handicap label. Bovetti:the passion for CHOCOLATE
created in 1994, the house of chocolate Valter Bovetti, started in a garage.

Valter Bovetti is a man of commitment who never stops looking for the highest quality. The chocolatier wishes to offer the best by using only first choice ingredients and by perpetuating the tradition of old fashioned chocolate.
Valter Bovetti's commitment is also the respect of the people, the cocoa producers. (Fair Trade). As a true man of the field, he regularly travels to the producing countries to discuss the products but also the working and living conditions of the farmers. To date, he is the sponsor of 2 plantations (Sao Tomé).
With Valter, it's simple: there are no compromises, we don't cheat the cocoa, the planet and the consumers. Nature is fragile, if we want to enjoy its benefits, it is up to all of us to take care of it..
Valter Bovetti was the first to propose a unique spread on the market because it is made with 40% hazelnuts, real chocolate pure cocoa butter and without palm or coconut oil.

La visite est complète, avec un film montrant le travail dans les plantations, la transformation industrielle et la visite de la serre de cacaoyers.
C'est peu cher et ce d'autant plus que les enfants réalisent un moulage en chocolat et emportent à la fois leur réalisation et le moule.
Nous avons même eu droit à une dégustation de petites billes de chocolat à la fin de la visite et nous nous en sommes donné à cœur joie.
