Hotel of the Larequie family to feel the heartbeat of the old city in Sarlat-la-Canéda.

Housed in a 17th century cloister, in the heart of the medieval city, in the pedestrian zone on the right-hand side of the Sarlat crossroads, the Larequie family hotel is not lacking in charm. All the rooms are nicely decorated, some of them have kept a blonde stone wall. Some of them overlook the inner courtyard, where it is nice to have breakfast when the first rays of sunshine flood the flower beds. It is a great place to feel the heartbeat of the old town and enjoy its attractions in season.

Lovely characterfull hotel, in a tastefully restored old building and as such has no lift installed, but the stairs are not too difficult or strenious. It was initially quite difficult to find as you have to park up in one of the towns public spaces whilst you find the hotel, which is up a moderately steep pedestrian area and is only about 100 mtrs from the main shopping and tourist area, so once installed you never have far to go for sights, shopping and restaraunts. The reception was quick and efficient and very friendly, it is a family business and managed by the latest generation daughter, a very pleasant and informative young lady who also does the very nice breakfast service in the morning.
The room at first appeared small but it was warm, very clean with a really comfortable bed, as it is a converted centuries old monastery or convent that they couldn't knock about too much then the rooms and shower size make sense.
They have private parking further up the hill at a price of 15 euro per night and as the public parking around town is at a premium or larger parking areas a lot further away I found the hotels parking to be worth it for peace of mind. All in all a very pleasant stay and would certainly book in again if we were to visit the town again, we stayed 2 nights which gave us ample time to explore and we were allowed to stay in the parking on the day we checked out which gave us ample time to explore the wonderful Saturday market.
