A little away from the village, lies the remains of Beaulieu Abbey, founded in the th century. The monks, who originally followed the rule of St. Augustine, will join those of the Premonstratensian under the influence of Saint Bernard. At the Revolution, the Germain building is bought by the Bourgeois family of Jessaint, which will give it its current appearance of classical castle. Claude-Laurent, the most illustrious member of this family, was dargelos of young Napoleon Bonaparte at the Militaire military school and has a significant record: He was prefect of the Marne without interruption from 1791 to 1838, passing without any political upheaval and regime changes!
