Spanish cuisine is tasty and we particularly liked the beef balls with salsa sauce or the meat fritter with mushroom cream. An address to test.
EL RANA VERDE
Read moreThis is one of Aranjuez's fine establishments, in operation since 1903. Two qualities have earned it its good reputation: an ideal location, right on the river, and a typical menu, where game and bull meat predominate, as in all the restaurants in the region. But, more original, here it's the frog that has made the reputation of the establishment, and in particular its excellent frog legs(ancas de rana) with garlic. A good idea before, of course, concluding your meal with local strawberries.

EL CORRAL DE LA ABUELA

A stone's throw from the Royal Palace, this address offers excellent (and very copious) meat dishes at a rather good price-quality ratio. If it is better to book in high season, the terrace is an option of choice in the middle or at the end of a good day's visit. Carnivores will love it and the wine list is quite extensive to water all this. We really like the address, even if the service can be a little long in high season.
RESTAURANTE EL TORREON
Read moreIn the heart of a garden and immersed in the greenery of Monte del Pardo, the bustle of the Puerta del Sol (only 15 minutes away!) will seem very far away.... This family table (a small children's park is available for guests and some animals can be easily approached) is also a welcome haven of freshness in summer. The chef of the establishment, Paco Bello, also offers cooking classes for amateur chefs. A good option in the village.

The cellar is also well-stocked.

A beautiful address steeped in history with an exemplary welcome.

A friendly address that has been rampant (and seductive) since 1941 in Miraflores.
LA MUSA LATINA
Read moreThe Musa Latina is the little sister of the trendy eponymous bar on Calle Malasaña and a real favorite! Here, the recipe has remained the same: a colourful decoration on an electro trendy background with a neat plate of tapas and fusion cuisine with Japanese influences. The restaurant is less lively at lunchtime but still has a lot of charm. In particular thanks to the small terrace (and its life-saving corner of shade in the summer) which overlooks one of the city's most charming squares. The tapas menu for two people is to be tested.
CASA BRISCAS

It is therefore logical that the owners of the place continue to perpetuate the culinary traditions of the area. This is enough to take a nice gourmet break in the spring before heading back to the capital.
EL BARRIL DE LAS CORTES
Read moreThis rather classy room, refined and modern in decoration, in the heart of Sol, is rather a good surprise for lovers of fresh seafood. The plates are rather generous and well presented. The ceviche and octopus are excellent in particular. The service, usually meticulous, can however sometimes be a little fast on Friday and Saturday evenings. The weekday lunch menu (menu del dia), which offers excellent value for money, is a real good deal. At the bar, there are also good cocktails.
LA CABAÑA ARGENTINA
Read moreCarnivorous friends, this is an address not to be missed under any circumstances! In addition to welcoming you with a smile, this parrilla (restaurant specializing in grilled meat) honors Argentina by grilling its delicious pieces of meat on a large barbecue for all to see. The establishment has a second address, just opposite in the street. Reservations are strongly recommended on weekends.
DONZOKO
Read moreMadrid is not known for its sushi? Well, don't worry about it! If you are a sushi lover, this is the place for you! Donzoko is certainly one of the best specialists - and they are rare - of the capital, but it is also a very high quality address. The setting is superb, between the small fountain at the entrance and the long, typically Japanese bar, and the menu, composed only of ultra-fresh products and concocted with talent. A godsend in the neighborhood for a break from the traditional tapas.
STOP MADRID
Read moreThis is probably one of the best tapas bars in the Spanish capital. You are greeted with a smile and the bottles of wine, all excellent, hanging on the walls invite only to ask for a glass of the best Rioja, accompanied by a plate of ham or cheese. But a very good time ahead.

In a wooded decor, both warm and trendy, you will enjoy it! And the chef does not forget his origins and the dishes are declined in the form of tapas. You will need three of them, including a side dish, to get to the dessert. A good opportunity to escape from the gazpacho-tortilla-jamon triptych...
TSE YANG
Read moreFor a change from Spanish food, here's a Chinese restaurant, mostly Cantonese actually, with an excellent reputation. Although it left the walls of the luxurious Villa Magna Hotel when it was renovated in 2021, it has relocated just two minutes away and still promises a great culinary experience. It is of impeccable quality and still eats some of the best lacquered duck in the capital, if not the country. With its refined decoration, the setting is perfect for enjoying delicious tasting menus.
FRIDA
Read moreThe least we can say is that there is an excellent atmosphere at Frida, with its trendy and neat decoration, especially at brunch time (very popular in the neighbourhood) at the weekend. The rest of the week, the sandwiches and smoothies are all the rage among the capital's trendy thirty-somethings, who leave the children to go about their business in the pleasant little square next door. Very practical! If the food is not always unforgettable, the spot is really nice and the prices are honest. Worth a try.
TABERNA LA CONCHA
Read moreLa Concha is one of Cava Baja's most popular (small) tapas bars, where Madrilenians don't hesitate to sit in the basement for part of the evening. Renowned for its vermouth, this is an address not to be missed! And the charming owner is always on hand to offer advice when it comes to choosing a label from the wine list. In short, a typical, quality address offering excellent value for money.
