Passing through the "city at the seven ports," miss the superb trail Coastline would look of the sacrilege. This 7 km long course, offered by the tourism Office, footpath crosses a shore completely open onto the Pool. In order to break the intimacy of the Poitevin Marsh, from the bay of the Stimulus to the tapis of its interlaced canals, there is only one imperative: drop the car, its polluting exhaust pot and its vrombissant engine. It's not velvet that you have to penetrate its lush vegetation, sliding on the water or pressing on the pedals. Different formulas for renting bicycles, canoes or boats (with or without ferry boats) are offered, with circuits from 1 h to 3 h (from 2 days to week for canoeing rides). Circuits specially developed for the Works Councils are organised by year upon reservation: «Les Rally en Boats», which combines cycling, walking and boat rides with the possibility of barbecue on-site for lunch.

This short walk takes you to the discovery of the emblematic monuments of the city of Saintes. To get in the bath immediately, start your journey by the arenas. Dating back to the year 40 after Jesus Christ, this Gallo-Roman amphitheatre is the best preserved of the Atlantic coast, perhaps even Europe. At the time, it could accommodate up to 15 000 spectators! Then go to the Romanesque church of Saint-Europe, before you head to the Emperor's house, where you expect a magnificent view of the city and its river.

To access the Cordouan lighthouse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the launches La Bohême II and La Bohême III are the only ones to provide connections from the port of Le Verdon. In July and August, La Galantaise de croisières offers a departure from Port Médoc for up to nine people. The Cordouan lighthouse stands in the middle of the ocean 7 kilometres from the land. It is 67.50 metres high and has 311 steps. It is the only lighthouse at sea in the world that is still manned and open to visitors.
