The Normandy Oise deserves its name: cider is one of the specialities of this region stretching from the Beauvaisis to the borders of the Seine-Maritime. Some of the best wines come from this cider house founded in 1955 by Gérard Maeyaert, a former task force (seasonal worker). The establishment changed its name and curiously adopted as an effigy on its site a gorilla (an animal that is not very common in Beauvaisis). There are five types of ciders, but also three beers and six fruit juices (including original rhubarb).

Lovers of meunier and chardonnay will be delighted to stop by this talented house. For five generations, its know-how has delighted connoisseurs. The current owner exploits today 4,5 ha in reasoned viticulture. Since 2019, the estate is labeled "Sustainable Viticulture" (VDC) and "High Environmental Value" (HVE). Six charming wines are to be discovered, including the cuvée Fruitée and its sensual raspberry pink color. Since 2021, the house has been awarded the "Vignoble et Découverte" label for wine tours.

Since 1922, this family business has been producing elegant and generous champagnes with passion. Richard Paillette, an independent winemaker, is currently in charge of a 7.25 ha vineyard. The 3 traditional grape varieties are cultivated there. The range offers 8 wines and a champagne ratafia. We love the Cuvée Prestige with its roundness and its finesse in the mouth. It surprises with a duck breast with mirabelle plums. Don't miss this House which shares its good addresses and offers a very good quality-price ratio.

This house with its 14 ha of vineyards is today managed by Anna and Franck Météyer, a French-Polish couple who met in the middle of the harvest! Alongside her husband, who represents the fifth generation, the bubbly Anna never misses an opportunity to chat with her visitors. Some of their vines are over 70 years old and allow for complex blends. A favorite is L'Exclusif, a 2016 vintage plot in 100% meunier (zero dosage).

The origins of the family business date back to 1957 and it is now Olivier who runs it. The vineyard is worked with respect and common sense. We love the Selection vintage, which exhales aromas of white flowers and is very fruity on the palate. A beautiful product that can be enjoyed as an aperitif or at the beginning of a meal. The Millésime Brut 2012 also attracts attention, with its ripe fruit flavors that linger until the end of the tasting. We succumb!

Champagne BOUCANT, based in Bonneil in the Marne Valley, has been cultivating its vineyards for generations.
