Located in the heart of the pines, between 1,500 and 2,400 meters above sea level, the small village of Formiguères enjoys an exceptional natural environment. It is the resort of the 4 seasons and the first multi-activity outdoor experience area in the Pyrenees. Puigmal Pyrenees-Cerdagne, a natural setting for environmentally friendly tourism, offers an ideal terrain for the practice of outdoor sports with routes dedicated to trail, ski touring, Nordic walking and mountain biking / EV. In the heart of the Pyrenees-Cerdagne, between 1100 m and 2921 m of altitude, this massif is an emblematic site and a long-standing popular destination on the Catalan and French side. Above Les Cabannes, on the Beille plateau, lies the first cross-country skiing area in the Pyrenees, also the first snow stadium on a national level. The altitude guarantees one of the best snow conditions. The natural area is preserved and gives off a real breath of pure and invigorating air. A 19 km track runs in a training loop at the end of the plateau. The resort is for all ages. 70 km of Nordic ski trails: 1 green, 4 blue, 5 red, 2 black. 40 km of snowshoeing trails; sledging area. Only a 30-hour drive from Toulouse, the Beille resort offers a total change of scenery. In addition to its stunning view of the Pyrennées, it would appear that the station has a similar fauna and flora to Scandinavia! A total of 65 km of tracks, groomed and marked out following the natural course of the paths to the gates of the villages or at the foot of the remains of the Cathar castle of Montaillou. Nîmes is fortunate to be a impartiality between the Pyrenees, the Alps and the Cévennes-Lozere, any region where skiing can be done in winter. For the Cevennes, it is less than an hour's drive away. The Ski Club de Nîmes, which celebrated its 75 years of existence in 2010, organizes skiing/surfing or day-to-day hiking, as well as weekends or snow stays. You are Méribel or Mont-Aiguoual? For the day, the departure is often given around 4 am in the morning (!) with a scheduled return around 22 pm. Will there be sport!

The Cirque du Lys ski area, one of two attached to the Cauterets resort, boasts the highest snowfall in the French Pyrenees.
