Sailing Midi-Pyrénées

At the foot of the rocky coast, where the Pyrenees begin (or end), the Water Sport Aventure team will make your mouth water without drinking the cup with its three flagship activities: sea kayaking, paddle and windsurfing. These last two activities are nice but the Futé really loved the sea kayak rides to discover the hidden coves of the Côte Vermeille and to move at the water's edge to better observe without disturbing. All the walks are supervised and do not require exceptional physical condition.

Embark on the Mansathau, a catamaran with mixed propulsion to discover the Thau lagoon. The 55-minute guided tour will take you through the oyster beds and provide you with a variety of information: after the geographical data, the captain will retrace the history of shellfish farming and explain the current farming methods with the help of a slide show. Gourmet escapade, sunset (only in summer) or private excursion with skipper are also available.

This 80-foot blue trimaran, moored in front of the station, is a real Formula 1 capable of reaching 40 knots. It has participated in the greatest offshore races, including the Route du Rhum... If you like strong emotions, come on board. This extraordinary trimaran is capable of going in one day to tickle the Pyrenees-Orientales on one side, the Camargue on the other. On board, three experienced skippers will share the maneuvers with you. No more than ten people can come aboard. Many services and strong sensations.

"Akila Gruissan Pôle Étang" is a sailing school for beginners and advanced sailors. The certified staff is very attentive and able to teach different levels. Several sports are practiced such as wing foil, windsurfing, funboard, optimist or canoe... The material park is of very last technology to progress in the best conditions. The magnificent pond of Mateille is a secure place ideal for learning these various disciplines.

Most of the little Aveyronnais have taken their first steps on the water in this centre which has a sailing school. You will discover in optimal conditions these nautical activities which will make you fully appreciate the lake. Thanks to its surface, and the wind which blows there, the lake lends itself, indeed, with the training and the practice of the catamaran, the windsurfing, the canoe... The CYVP is also a campground where you can stay close by and at a lower cost.

Created by sailing enthusiasts, this association makes it possible to practice sailing as a leisure activity, on habitable sailboats. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced sailor, you can be welcomed without age limit to share the pleasure of sailing together, in family or in group, all year long. The outings take place over half a day or a full day. Six skippers, experienced sailors, offer to go on board their beautiful boats. The Atouvents association also offers evolving programs on the Thau Lagoon.

Come on, sailors! For a few hours, you'll be able to live your sailing dream. Departing from Port-Camargue, you'll be able to take part in sea outings lasting from a few hours to a full day. In summer, you can watch the sunset from the boat's deck. Climb aboard a maxi-catamaran with Alain the skipper, take part in the maneuvers on board, enjoy a sailboat cruise, and experience intense sensations on the waves of the big blue. With family or friends, you'll have a fabulous time leaving from Le Grau-du-Roi.

To discover sailing in a friendly atmosphere, the Société Nautique du Bassin de Thau offers introductory courses on live-aboard sailboats, friendly regattas as a crew member and more depending on your knowledge. Theoretical courses are organized regularly and "training" boat trips are possible on days when the weather is favorable. Note that the association also organizes Handireg: sailing trips adapted to the handicap.

The Yacht Club of Mèze is an association which has a fleet of catamarans, dinghies, windsurfers, handivoile boats, optimists as well as habitable sailing boats. This leisure center, open to young and old alike, offers sailing courses, private lessons, nautical equipment rental, as well as regattas and training sessions for the BPJEPS multi-support or cruising sailors in the Occitanie region. In the summer, introductory or advanced courses are supervised by state-qualified instructors.

The sailing section of the ASPTT does not organize regular offshore outings during the year. However, cruises can be made on request. Costa Brava, Balearic Islands, Marseille coves, a day of relaxation, a week-end, a week or more, it is possible to navigate through the most beautiful sites on the Mediterranean coast. During the summer, young people can take advantage of the introductory courses of the sailing school.

Géraldine and Christophe's water sports center is located on the banks of the Pissevaches lake. Many activities are available: paddle, giant paddle, kayak, wingfoil, wingsurf, kitesurf, ski lift... Depending on your choice, you can practice your hobby on the sea or on the pond. Glisse & Kite also offers a most unusual experience... Imagine yourself at sunset, on a floating pontoon in the middle of the water, comfortably seated on deckchairs and enjoying aperitifs and tapas with friends, family... or just the two of you!

If you spend your vacations, a weekend or if you live in Port-Leucate, the desire to take the wind on a sailing machine must have already titillated you... Windsurfing, catamaran, sand yacht, optimist, pirogue, canoe paddle, there is something for all desires, all levels and all ages (from 8 years). A preparation to competition (regattas, races) is also proposed, with the material at disposal. We tested the 5-day windsurfing initiation course (more than 7 hours of sailing). Clément, our state-qualified instructor, was very patient even if our group was particularly alert on this board mounted with a 4 meters sail and a wind force close to zero. This is where it gets complicated for the coach. But Clément, as a good teacher and a very good technician, was able to tackle different exercises such as sailing with a crosswind, gybing, tacking, starting to sail upwind... Note that the navigation takes place on the XXL pond of Port Leucate, a particularly beautiful site, with a unique panorama on the Mediterranean. At the end of the course, we received a booklet from the federation with our first level validated. The latest equipment is very well maintained and adapted to all levels. In spite of the light wind, which is very rare here, we had a great time without any headaches and we definitely wanted to pass the second level!
