Where to climb Midi-Pyrénées

Lovers of thrills and vertigo, you have found your guide. Michel Mondié (30 years spent in the elite of mountain rescue) invites you to a sportive and playful discovery of the beautiful Catalan Country: climbing, via ferrata, canyoning, hiking. There is something for all levels and all publics. Attention: small structure so pampered supervision and absolute safety! Jean and Mathieu have just settled and offer climbing, canyoning and via ferrata courses in the Carroux massif, but also in the Cevennes. Treat yourself to fresh water, air and beautiful countryside on the day or half day. Beautiful sensations through climbing paths between 100 and 300 m, and confirmed guides will accompany you to allow you to overcome difficulties under better conditions.

The Escalade climbing site is one of the most well-known and experienced in the French Pyrenees. It is located in four limestone sites around the municipalities of Bédeilhac, Surba and Rabbat. It offers beginner climbers as well as the pleasure of moving on to varied walls of difficulty. All are equipped with good quality equipment, with studs or seals.

The largest Calamès site has 220 tracks, from 3 c to 8 b +: It lends itself both to initiation and to climbing. Exposed to the south, it enjoys a pleasant ensolleillement; but mistrust in case of heavy heat, because only the area of the caves is shaded.

The walls tend to your sides and you will make your mousquetons evolve? We offer you a nice training base or an alternative of choice when the weather upsets your climbing projects! The Gèdre Hall is a small gem of its kind with 350 meters of grimpable surface! More than 18 metres high, fifteen beautiful climbing lines, string games changed every year, a block space of 6 metres long: the many routes are adapted to all levels. Access is done in total autonomy, so we have to master the techniques of assurage and string manipulation to enjoy all the possibilities. You also have to bring your straps and descendeurs because the room provides only strings and dégaines. A great potential for climbing fans!

"One name, two worlds": climbing and jaja! A 400^m2 bouldering room where you can move around without ropes or harnesses. A real cellar where our climbers produce red, white and rosé wines. Finally, a relaxation area to quench your thirst or have lunch after a good sweaty session. The whole team is there to welcome you, to supervise you and to help you in your progression: courses, training courses... All the information is on the website. The vast nautical base offers canoes, kayaks and giant paddles for hire... There's even an aquatic zip-line!

Nestled in the gorges de l'Hérault near Montpellier and the Grotte des Demoiselles, this via ferrata is one of the longest and most magnificent in Occitanie. This aerial route offers an exceptional panorama between the Pic Saint Loup and Mont Aigoual. With its vertical sections, monkey bridge, zip line, abseiling, chimneys, caves and tunnels, it offers a unique experience. And to top it all off, don't miss the pendulum jump into the Baume du Soleil, where you'll discover the secret behind its name. A surprise well worth the detour...

This sporty course, which mixes the pleasures of mountain hiking with those of climbing, is available in two courses equally suited to beginners and more experienced climbers. The via ferrata of Rousses links rock walls, zip lines and suspension bridges to thrill in complete safety, but also to enjoy the exceptional landscapes of the Tapoul gorges. The circuit, which runs along the river, even allows you to refresh yourself on the way while enjoying the pleasures of the water. The entrance is free and the equipment can be rented on the spot.
