Looking for a gourmet break while visiting one of France's most beautiful villages? Chez Calou invites you to relax. Situated at the foot of the church, this charming tearoom boasts a lovely terrace where you can enjoy an ice cream from the farm, a gourmet coffee with five pastries or the surprising Camembert cheese. It is also called "Hippodrome Maurice Jan" or "Hippodrome de Pontorson - Mont-Saint-Michel": this 1,200-metre sand track with a left-hand rope allows regular trotting races to be held, in a splendid setting, with the beautiful silhouette of Mont only a few kilometres away. The adjacent facilities (building, grandstands) are modern, and the races, some of which are very popular, are mainly organised during the summer period.

In the middle of the Suisse Normande, three fields in the forest, under the woods and in the clearing (i.e. 5 hectares!) are reserved for the practice of paintball. Different rental packages are available with protective mask and launcher, for amateurs as well as for beginners or experts. During the summer, the field is open at night. With its 1700 m ², this equipment consists of a modular showroom and an adaptable forum space, a place of meetings and initiatives. Ideal for organising artistic events, it is also a unique place for the success of commercial and professional events, such as the salon des antiquaires, flea and collections that takes place every year on the last weekend of August.

A small neighborhood cinema, with a big one. 3 D projections, two rooms with seats with screens about meters wide, specific equipment for hearing and impaired, nothing missing. Guaranteed entertainment, made available to everyone. The sessions are regular, and the projected films are not suffering too much from the film news. Our three musketeers Maëva, Justin and Léandre, the former bosses of the Cosy Room (this old club in Caen which occupied many nights of our students a few years ago), have opened the Âmbar! With a very friendly atmosphere and a musical background, this bar for eating and dancing is divided into three universes in relation with the sunset and this amber color - hence the name. To accompany your tapas, custom-made cocktails, out of the question to make what exists elsewhere! Elevator PMR, superb terrace, that promises beautiful evenings!

Far from the Montmartre hill, Chat Noir has nothing to do with some cabaret... If it is not perhaps the wink on the posters on the walls! Celebrate bar with rum in Cherbourg and especially popular, the atmosphere is friendly and warm. Many wines by the glass are offered as beers and other drinks... with or without alcohol! But pure or arranged, here, rum is king! Sit at the bar, restaurant or try part of darts at the foot of the bar! The curse of the Chat Noir will not take place tonight.

Let the one who has never wanted to go to the little corner raise his finger. Finally we must not think of the same... The P'tit Coin is a small intimate theater with 50 seats that allows unknown talents to become known. Certainly, from the outside the building is not very warm but the laughter is shared inside. In addition to this P'tit Coin, the large room opposite can accommodate 200 seats (175 at the table during cabarets). Every year, festivals are organized here several times. Reserve your seats.

It's the trendy bar in the corner. It offers fast dining, theme evenings, concerts, guinguettes, karaoke, sports events and entertainment for children with a 200 m ² playground.

Fabien and Guillaume opened the Feeling K-Pa in July 2011, a very gay-friendly bar open to lesbians and neighbours who love them. Contemporary and colourful interior, clean lines, light lighting lights. The consos are at affordable prices, the festive atmosphere… A place not to miss!

This brand-new bar is the latest addition to the Cherbourg nightlife scene. Its original name comes from the unshakeable friendship between nine young locals who decided to launch their own place. And what a place it is! The old establishment has been completely revamped, the whole place is brighter, and the different types of draught beer and other cocktails are not to blame for the promising crowds from the very first days of opening. Open in the evenings, the place also offers a few concerts, just to get the atmosphere going!

Marc and his cocktail musketeers await you in the Old Market. The menu features classics as well as exotic and fruity creations. Let yourself be surprised by the improvised creations: the staff's inspiration is astonishing. The small, shady terrace is perfect for a break in the height of summer. The rest of the year, you can relax in a warm atmosphere in the dining room or upstairs. The latter can be made private if required. Quality platters are available to accompany drinks. Ideal for an evening with friends.

Toile recognize this without ambage: cinemas in small towns often have a charm of no other kind! It is not the Dungeon, the Bricquebétaise hall, that will deny this assertion. It is a little away from the village that this room of about 200 places is located. After a short fall break, due to the setting up of a new association to manage the place, it was early December that the spectators again found the Dungeon path. Other advantages, very low rates, and eclectic and popular programming. 

It's not to be missed, with its vast blue storefront, and it's one of Cherbourg's hottest spots! This Drifter is in fact a vast bar that opens directly onto the central square, and adapts its opening hours on Thursdays to allow those finishing the market to come in for a drink afterwards! On a more regular basis, the place is packed with entertainment: karaoke, concerts by small local bands, but also "Irish sessions": music and beers included! And don't forget that you can also have a snack on site!

The "spot" on the Cotentin west coast, facing Jersey and in the shadow of Cap de Carteret, Potinière beach is a paradise worth sharing. Indeed, this bar is ideally located on this beach. Here, from April to October, you can enjoy the exceptional panorama while sipping a drink on the terrace or feasting on local lobsters, whelks, and oysters. When the tides come in, the view is breathtaking. At high tide, the waves crash onto the terrace and wash over the restaurant's windows.

Exhibitions of artists, conferences, musical animations... The Grange aux Dîmes of Cambremer, located just behind the church, is a major cultural actor of the town. It offers efficient equipment and above all a magnificent setting. The old stone and the superb framework highlight the creations of local artists who regularly come to present their work. The barn welcomes 12,000 visitors per year, most of them on the first weekend of May, during the Rencontres de Cambremer, a festival of AOC/AOP products.

It's Cherbourg's biggest nightclub: located right in the town centre, the Hope Club is one of the figureheads of the Rue de la Paix, which for decades has been the beating heart of Cherbourg's nightlife. The multi-level dancefloor can accommodate a large number of revellers. On Thursdays, many of the city's students gather here, while the crowd is much more diverse on Fridays and Saturdays. The eclectic musical programme and, above all, the excellent atmosphere make this a place not to be missed.

Reunited with the Conservatoire since 2021, the orchestra is a symphonic group of musicians mastering a wide repertoire from the Baroque period to the present day. Transferred to Caen la Mer in 2003, its missions have been reviewed and expanded with the creation of Appasionato to develop new projects, promoting access to music for as many people as possible and spreading the word about our musical heritage. The Orchestra's season includes not only concerts and recitals, but also festivals and a host of free pre-concerts!

A very nice place in the city centre, where the atmosphere is always present: the Black Dog Café is indeed one of the must-see places of the Cherbourg night. Here, we like to have fun, we like rock, and we proudly claim it! The music flows freely, as do the drinks, starting with the beers and whiskies which are offered in quantity. On match nights, whether it's football or rugby, the atmosphere goes up another level. Many people come here to have an aperitif with friends, with the excellent homemade terrines to nibble on.

Looking for a place to relax and unwind, in a peaceful garden sheltered from the wind and all eyes? Rendezvous at Les Dunes. It's the perfect address! Come and enjoy a hot drink with a crêpe or pastry in the tea room. Everything is homemade (crumble, tart, cheesecake...), and the sweet treats are made according to the cook's daily whims. As well as having a great time, you'll be refreshed for the end of the day and full until dinner!

Here is a very nice address, full of freshness! Both a coffee shop and a lunch restaurant, the Mug is ideal for a break worthy of the name. We tried it for lunch and it's really worth the detour! A split pea puree, soft egg, leek and livarot croquettes, or a homemade bun with pork shreds, yum! And because we had a very small place left, we fell for the banana-chocolate crumble! We might as well tell you that all the pastries are tempting, a good excuse to come back for a snack!

Welcome to Brazil! On his return from South America, the owner, John Tranchard, created Casa das Batidas: an eco-responsible cocktail bar, the first in France. The decor was found in a vintage shop and the owner has introduced "zero waste". The cocktails, based on caipirinha and batidas, drinks made from mixed fruits, are served in large biodegradable and returnable cups. A festive place, bright and decorated like a Caribbean counter, to try!

This new beer bar offers nearly 300 references of cocktails. Yes, you read that right, 300 cocktails composed of unique creations and custom requests! Three buddies are at the helm to offer the neighbourhood mousses from the North and elsewhere, as well as cocktails prepared with the passion of youth, and a beautiful wine and soft drinks list. To accompany the evening and the alcohol, you will have the choice between boards of cold cuts, cheeses, but also vegetarian boards and small things to spread.

With three large halls and 1,400 m² of playing space, this laser game offers you the chance to spend a fun and original evening with friends or family. Individually or as part of a team, you'll take on an opponent by aiming your weapon at his or her vest. There's no minimum age to take part, but you'll need to be over 1.20 m tall. The second floor is reserved for the car-racing simulation, an equally entertaining attraction.

Dive into the heart of Normandy's history during World War II and find yourself in June 1944 in the shoes of a resistance fighter, responsible for ensuring the complete success of the Overlord mission, all in 60 minutes, not one more! The ambience is simple and noble, with an old-fashioned factory decor that makes you feel at home. To complete the picture, you can accompany your tasting with succulent "Miams". A place you won't want to leave!

Take tea in the company of Buddy Pope: that's the so British proposal from the Bella team. Facing the lake, this family-run restaurant welcomes you for an English breakfast, lunch, brunch, afternoon tea or dinner under the watchful eye of this British family's poodle. The à la carte menu offers something for everyone: fish and chips, Scotch eggs, crispy fries, etc., and for dessert, an assortment of delicious cakes, all served by a hospitality professional.

Rarely has the phrase "feet in the water" taken on so much meaning. Because at the West-Bar, the sea is only a few meters away: this pretty straw hut faces the immensity of the sea on the west side of the Cotentin peninsula (sublime sunsets guaranteed) and has no shortage of great ideas to help you spend a moment out of time. Not only do you enjoy a drink here, but you'll also eat excellent dishes, often bistronomic in style, that make a refreshing change from the usual snacking fare. Last but not least, there's a lot of fun to be had here, including regular concerts.

Former abbey and barracks of Saint-Sauveur in the 19th century, the manège de Tilly has been hosting an equestrian revue since September. This 1,500^m2 venue, unique in Normandy, offers dinner-shows on Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as a brunch formula on Sunday noon. On the program, La Revue de Caserne, a 1h15 show, between the main course and the dessert. Become a conscript in the middle of the horses, a bidasse and a canteen girl one evening in 1890. A place to discover! More clever: the place can be privatized by companies and individuals thanks to a modular space.

Au Bout du Quai is a simple, comfortable hotel. It's also close to the Plat Gousset beach and the Christian Dior museum, about 12 and 15 minutes' walk respectively. Rooms are simple but feature free wi-fi. The hotel has a cosy bar with warm decor and a terrace overlooking the sidewalk. A continental buffet breakfast is available at an additional cost. If you're a music lover, the Portobello is the place to be! In fact, Gaëtan and Guillaume, the two friends who own this café-concert, are musicians themselves, so it's a real treat! Eclectic, high-quality programming: you're sure to get an earful! Behind these doors, an intimate room dedicated to live music, with capacity for 150 people. "I resist everything, except temptation": that's how this Granvillian establishment sums up its state of mind. And with good reason: Dame Gourmande, launched by Maryse Jorre, who went back to school to take a pastry chef's diploma, keeps all its promises. And for four years now (already!), tarts, cookies and scones have been combined with savoury offerings to great effect at lunchtime. Of course, everything here is homemade, and the Sunday brunch is also well worth the detour. And, of course, it's delicious!

It's all about teamwork and using your brains! The principle is simple: locked in a room as part of a team of 3 to 6, you'll have sixty minutes to solve a series of enigmas to get out... You'll try to escape from zombies, dine aboard the Titanic ordelve into historical secrets, through various types of scenarios). One activity immerses you in 4D virtual immersion, with a vibrating floor beneath your feet. As a bonus, you can try your hand at axe-throwing. So here's to stress, anxiety and lots of fun!

It is a small and unpretentious hotel, set on the edge of more the vast square of Valognes. If you like the local atmospheres and whether you love to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the city that you visit, go here when the days are dotted, similar and vibrant, especially when the market takes place. High school students, patrons much, some tourists come here to have a coffee, a glass of wine, play cards sometimes. Sandwiches, goods and cheap, complete the offer of the place.

At this address, there's no time for boredom! After several name changes, Sauvage is the latest. Despite the metamorphosis, the originality, quality of the menu and ambiance we love are still there. The decor focuses on raw, "wild" materials (grrr...). On summer evenings, take advantage of the terrace and relax with a drink or cocktail. Owners Clément Ramakers and his partner Aurore Morel also run a restaurant, with occasional exotictouches. Worth a visit!

Fans of all kinds of games (cards, board games, role playing games...), this store is for you! Held by two enthusiasts, the duo welcomes you warmly and is not stingy with good advice. Cédric and Nicolas know what they are talking about and also know what you want, maybe even before you do! To play with family, friends, two or many more, they will have THE game for you. In the spacious store, you can also take advantage of the miniature painting workshop or have a Malkyrs tournament. Exchange and conviviality are the order of the day!

On the corner of rue Eau-de-Robec and rue du Pont-de-l'Arquet, in the pedestrian precinct leading to Saint-Vivien, here's a newcomer to the nightlife scene. It's a bar that concocts cocktails, each more delirious than the last. Every week, you'll be able to taste inventions based on gin, rum, ginger, fresh fruit, lemon or mint... The interior is cosy and modern, and the terrace welcomes you on balmy days, for quiet aperitifs in the setting sun.
