The owners of the place defend tooth and nail the Quebec products. The cod tongues with sea urchin butter, for example, are one of the specialties of the house, not to mention the lobster, which is a must-try in season. The Symphonie de la mer plate for two is generous and delicious. In addition to the seafood and fish that are the mainstay, the restaurant also prepares grilled meats, not to mention the maple wood-fired pizzas. An address not to be missed!

Don't look for the Garde Manger sign, you won't find it. Yet this little restaurant is a much sought-after spot. It has to be said, too, that here, good humor, conviviality, music and good neo-rustic cuisine combine to perfection. The cooks are busy, the waiters come and go, the barman prepares the drinks, manages the cutlery and the music... The pace is frenetic, but we really enjoy it. Could it be due to the cosy atmosphere, the wine and cocktails, the quality of the food? Certainly all of the above.

A true Old-Montreal institution, this restaurant has retained its cachet with a more contemporary touch. Under the guidance of chef Paul Achard, fish and seafood reign supreme on the menu, and the choice is vast. Poached wild salmon, grilled langoustines, fried calamari and lobster in a variety of sauces, just to name a few. And for those who don't really feel inspired by the ocean, several homemade pasta and meat dishes are also on display. The accompanying wine list and digestifs are sure to please.

A well-known address, as it is one of the few establishments open all year round. The motel restaurant prepares a good family cuisine with seafood specialities (try the fisherman's plate), pasta, grills, pizzas and tutti quanti. In addition to the à la carte dishes, a daily menu is offered for lunch and a table d'hôte in the evening. For those who wake up late, no problem, breakfast brunch is available all day long!

This fishmonger-restaurant on the Jean-Talon market is one of a kind. Not all the fish is local, but it is carefully selected for its quality. Depending on what arrives, you'll find tuna, lobster, swordfish... The fishmonger's is the only one in town to mature its fish on the premises, and to offer seafood charcuterie, also available for tasting in the restaurant. You can also enjoy fish & chips from the day's catch, char with vegetables and sandwiches like the smoked shrimp hot dog.

And for good reason: the cuisine is friendly, innovative and truly delicious. Local fish and seafood are honoured, especially lobster, and prepared with originality, with a good dose of artisanal products from the Magdalen Islands. A must stop, a must in the region since 1968! Captain Lobster, as his name suggests, prepares his seafood and fish specialities for you, but lobster remains in control of the place. The prices are excellent, the portions are generous and the view is magnificent. A shop, which looks more like a museum, contains souvenirs, crafts and works by local artists. Also on site: a fish shop and games for children. To stretch the pleasure, it is possible to rent a chalet or a camping site on site.

Doubling as a fishmonger's, this restaurant makes seafood its great specialty: halibut and fennel soup, cold-smoked salmon, lobsters from its own tank, cod fillet with lemon butter, grilled scallops with Nantes butter, seafood cipaille... You'll want to try it all, and you can with the fisherman's plate, a veritable orgy of the sea! Little sailors are also entitled to a seafood menu designed just for them.

If you're craving fish and seafood, Les Terrasses du Capitaine is the place to go! The restaurant's location right on the quayside makes it a real maritime experience. On the menu: Cajun halibut bites, surf clam chowder, butter cod filet, lobster ravioli and scallop tartare. For a special treat, we recommend the crab or lobster plate, or the land and sea platter.

In a beach bar atmosphere, with our eyes riveted on the ocean, Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island, we come here to taste the best the sea has to offer. Almost everything is here, from cod acras and oysters to red tuna tartare and a plate of whole lobster. If you want to try all the starters with a lobster and two sections of crab legs, the platter for 2 is highly recommended. A fine selection of spirits, including cocktails and local beers.

Inspired by the Lobster Shacks of the American East Coast, this resto, cantine and snack bar is a must for seafood lovers. Fresh lobster, guédilles, clam chowder, lobster poutine and other delights are all on the menu, along with a selection of burgers, grills, pastas and more. All set in the distinctive décor of an old octagonal barn with a contemporary touch (we particularly like the lobster traps transformed into tables). Also on site: café-bar on the first floor.

A member of the family that unites the restaurants L'Affaire est Ketchup, Kraken Cru and Patente et Machin, l'Albacore focuses on seafood and seasonal vegetables, but not only. The menu is of course evolving, but always impeccable: ginger-confit fish dumplings with ponzu-marinated roasted mushrooms and St. Lawrence seaweed-infused pork broth, or raw scallops marinated in citrus and olive oil with yogurt squash puree, spiced pumpkin seeds, crusty bread crumbs, shiso and fleur de sel.

The specialties of the house: oysters, but also raw and cold seafood appetizers, good small dishes in the same spirit and privately imported wines, including a selection certified organic, biodynamic or natural. The name is well deserved considering the range of oysters on the slate, from Quebec, the Maritimes, Maine (USA) and other regions renowned for this seafood delicacy. And given the popularity of the place, additional seats have been added in the basement. Nice and unpretentious.
