Installed on the first floor directly on M.G. Marg, a typical restaurant which serves delicious Tibetan specialities(thentuk, thugkpa, momo...). Here is a very good and friendly address with a nice view on the pedestrian street, and the prices are very reasonable. We recommend you the pork momos and the cold pork slices with spices, they are delicious! And moreover, you can even drink a cold beer to accompany your meal. Be careful though, the establishment closes its doors quite early in the evening... A real favorite.

This small and cosy restaurant serves delicious Tibetan food concocted by^Mrs. Diki Chenzum. The dishes are varied and copious: excellent momos, thugkpa, thenthuk, noodles, soups but also very good fresh fruit juice and lassis. Simply the best Tibetan restaurant in town. Be careful though, there are only a few tables and the places are expensive, moreover it happens regularly that at the end of the day the fresh ingredients used to concoct some dishes are exhausted... Highly recommended for lunch.

When, in 1911, Haji Karimuddin set up his modest gargote in the south of the Jama Masjid, he certainly did not foresee that, a century later, his sign would be one of the most famous in the city. People come here to taste the burra kebab or a basmati badam pasanda, in other words a tender piece of lamb served with an almond-based sauce. You can also taste the kheer, this rice pudding flavoured with cardamom and covered with pistachios and almonds, a delicacy! As the portions are generous, the choice of half (half-serving) is more digestible.

Our crush on Majnu Ka Tila. Nestled in the heart of the neighborhood's small shopping mall, this establishment is a neat and gourmet haven of peace. With its saffron walls, book shelf and wicker armchairs, it feels like home. The welcome is adorable and the cakes in the window are "homemade". A very good plan for a breakfast or a snack at a lower cost. Try the chocochip muffin, a muesli with fresh fruit and enjoy a REAL espresso. Also à la carte: lassi, choice of teas and home made lemonade. An ideal HQ!

Don't worry if you don't see a price on the menu, here you pay as you feel. This is an associative café that offers a reintegration project for acid burned women. In addition to working in this café, which offers snacks and drinks, clothing and handicrafts, they study to try to resume a normal life. Disfigured, most of these women are reduced to begging to survive. Here, they find a project that gives them back their self-confidence and will allow them to envisage a future.

The famous Brown Bread Bakery is a must in Varanasi: fresh products, organic bakery, cozy atmosphere and conducive to meetings, part of the profits donated for the schooling of poor children and help to empower women. Salads, pizzas, large choice of cheeses (produced in Nepal, Manali or Auroville), meats, excellent breakfast... On the first floor the restaurant, on the upper floors the guesthouse rooms, and finally the restaurant on the roof with live music every night. Highly recommended.

This restaurant opened by the charming Nilza is a little jewel. It is even the only one in Ladakh to serve authentic Ladakhi cuisine! The place is beautiful with lots of woodwork, a traditional open kitchen and a small balcony with a breathtaking view. The menu, elaborated with local organic products, is varied, with notably filled khambir (ladakhi bread), chhutagi and skyu ( home made pasta in a broth), thugkpa, mok mok ... Excellent desserts and original drinks. Possibility to take cooking classes. A favorite!

This is the restaurant of the hotel Devraj Niwas. Located in the center of the city, it offers an exotic setting in the heart of a landscaped park. The wooden tables are set in an arc in the garden, lit with candles for a romantic atmosphere. In winter, braziers are placed between the tables to keep warm. In addition to the setting, the menu with its many vegetarian specialties is worth the detour. A nice choice of wines, cocktails, and branded spirits allow to prolong this moment. You are at the right place for a romantic dinner.

In height, the two rooms display two different atmospheres. On the ^first floor, coffee tables and mats on the floor, perfect for a cup of tea, lassi or a refreshing mint lemon slush. On the second floor, a few tables to enjoy the benefits of the restaurant's vegetarian cuisine. Here, no glutamate, as little oil as possible and fresh organic food. The varied menu offers salads, sandwiches, dal, curry all as healthy and delicious. Lots of choices also for breakfast. A very good address at any time of the day.

The restaurant bears this name in reference to the date the city was founded by Maharana Udai Singh. Situated on the edge of the lake Fateh Sagar its terrace is a real pleasure. We will not hide it, Spice Court is a restaurant for tourists. But... the quality is there, the setting is pleasant, the service is impeccable. The meal is taken in a large garden with, in the first part of the evening, a traditional show. From 9pm, the Indians take over the place, and the artists go home. The menu offers a wide variety of simmered dishes, perfectly spiced and tasty. A beautiful air-conditioned room welcomes the customers on hot days. Cherry on the cake, the owner speaks an impeccable French.

The establishment, not easy to find, is located on the second floor of a commercial building. Here is a typical restaurant to discover: to explore the richness and the delicacy of the famous Gujarati thali, it is here that you must come. Enticing presentation and authentic traditional flavors. It's so good that you'll ask for more... and that's good, they are served as much as you want! The big room is a little dark but very clean. Local color atmosphere enhanced by a very smiling welcome. Not to be missed under any pretext.

Every day, 100,000 meals are served. On the menu: an excellent vegetarian thali made of lentils and potatoes, rice, chapati and a dessert. And for this, more than 5,000 kg of wheat flour, 1,800 kg of dal (lentils), 1,400 kg of rice, 600 kg of sugar and 700 liters of milk are needed. Upon arrival, each person takes a tray, a bowl and a stainless steel spoon. You sit in a line on the floor and are served with a ladle. Remember to hold out both hands palms up to the sky in gratitude for receiving your chapati. A unique experience!

The setting of this Imperial Hotel restaurant is more reminiscent of an English private club bar than a charming Tuscan village. Nevertheless, it has a large number of regulars, as evidenced by the napkin rings displayed at the entrance. And its terrace is simply one of the nicest in town, with its wrought iron tables and chairs. The 100% Italian menu offers just-cooked pasta, thin-crusted pizzas, cold cuts from the Botte and some must-try dishes. All absolutely delicious.

It would be a pity to stay in Udaipur without having dinner at Ambrai! Bhaset Singh, the cook of the place, is none other than the former head of the maharaja and his experience allows him some remarkable fantasies. The dishes are meticulously prepared and served quickly. The enchanting setting is ideal for a romantic dinner. In the evening, the tables are lit by candlelight and before your eyes the city is reflected in the lake. We highly recommend Jahagisi Chicken, the unique house specialty. Reservation imperative in high season.

An institution in Darjeeling since 1935. A superb establishment on three floors. On the second floor, the restaurant. It offers Indian and international cuisine. You will be surprised to see beef and pork dishes on the menu. Alcohol is also served. The dishes are good, the service professional and the room very pretty. On the first floor, a tea/pastry shop serving croissants, muffins, brioches and other cakes. Ideal for breakfast or snacks. In the basement, a large bar, frequented by both local youth and tourists.

A very popular address, close to the general post office, which is packed. You can enjoy a very good Thai, Indian or Chinese cuisine, under the eyes of a life-size "Predator". The dishes are copious and an effort is made for the presentation. The service is fast. You can also have a glass of wine, a beer or a whisky. Concert videos add a nice musical atmosphere. The place also serves as a bakery and sells bread, pastries and cakes. A good address.

You'll have to climb several flights of stairs to reach the roof of this beautifully appointed little café. Mattresses on the floor covered with colorful drapes, large cushions, low wooden tables and carpets, that's the setting. Prefer the tables at the back which look directly onto the fort. The café offers an impressive menu with no less than 17 ways to prepare chicken! The service is a bit slow and nonchalant, but very nice. And the wifi works perfectly. A good place to rest for a while, on the terrace or in the room.

This restaurant located on the roof of the hotel Pal Haveli is famous for its exceptional location. In the evening, whether on the terrace or in a room with bay windows, the setting is enchanting. Very professional, the waiters are attentive. We recommend the chicken Labaddar: grilled chicken, cooked in a butter and tomato sauce, an improved version of the butter chicken. The view on the city, the fort and the clock is magnificent! The setting is perfect for a candlelit dinner for two. Very romantic.

Among the specialties of this shop: bhang in all forms. Lassi, fruit juices, cookies, cakes, chocolate... For those who have not heard of bhang, it is a preparation made from cannabis leaves. In this region, Indians are fond of it, especially during religious festivals. This official store is approved by the government. Nothing illegal, but beware, some bhang can be very strong. Some tourists attracted by the thrill have had the bad experience.

This small restaurant is run by a Frenchman, Laurent, and his wife. On the menu: homemade pizzas, pastas, burgers, paninis, sausages and salads, with homemade ham, bacon or excellent quality lardons. It's delicious and it's a change from the usual curries... The house also offers attractive breakfast formulas. Nice service. Laurent will give you his point of view on the hectic politics in Darjeeling, especially on Gorkhaland, and you will not be bored for a second!

Probably the best Tibetan restaurant in Bodhgaya. Excellent dishes, hearty and affordable. An opportunity to try one of the many Tibetan recipes, including excellent momos, thukpas and more, accompanied by tingmo (steamed Tibetan bread). International dishes on the menu include salads, hummus, burgers and sandwiches, as well as fresh juices, smoothies and more. There's also a boutique selling clothes, books, incense and more. A great place to stroll around with a good book.

Established in 1911 by a Swedish dairy entrepreneur, Mr. Edward Keventers, "Kev's" attracts crowds. Set up on two floors, it is a grocery store and snack bar with a superb sunny terrace. Specialties of "English breakfast", pork and chicken sausages, ham, bacon, salami, omelets, etc. available in plates or sandwiches made with home-made bread. Tea, coffee, shakes... Ideal for a (very) copious breakfast or for a snack. The place is immortalized in the Indian movie Barfi! in 2012.

Who doesn't know the Omelette Shop? It is impossible to stay in Jodhpur without seeing this famous man who sells hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried eggs... and especially omelets. His stand is located on the left side of the Sardar Market entrance, on the old city side. Victim of his success, Ramkishan Gwalani faces many traders who try to imitate him, even if some of them have closed down with the Covid-19 pandemic. While enjoying a good cheese masala omelet, take a look at his guest books; they are very funny!

Since its opening in 2016, this tiny café has not stopped filling up. A la carte, a large choice of fresh products to get you settled early in the morning or for a light breakfast. But above all, a very large choice of coffees, espresso or elongated, machiatto or frappé, that will satisfy caffeine addicts. Beware, between 9 and 10 am there is often a queue, as yoga enthusiasts all arrive here after their morning session in the nearby centre. The three tables set up on the small terrace are quickly taken by storm. From there, one can observe the lively Gangaur Ghat district.

An institution in Kolkata, often crowded. The setting is elegant, with a superb subdued light and a sober decoration. Specialties of tandoori kebabs and kebabs, biryanis, many naan recipes... Try the Chelo Kabab, a regional mutton specialty served with rice and a fried egg. Le Bon Appetit is the most chic restaurant in town. The place has a unique atmosphere and a terrace with a superb view. Let's be clear: the setting is nice but the menu is limited and a bit pretentious. To the Indian dishes, good but not more, prefer the European cuisine(fish & chips, lasagne, pasta, bruschettas, burgers). Forget also the pizzas, which are small and not very filling. For dessert, we highly recommend the delicious chocolate momos. And bon appétit, of course!

The best buffet in town? In any case, this restaurant is located in a pleasant, well-kept garden and the formula is attractive. If you opt for the buffet, you can eat as much as you want, for a slightly higher price than the a la carte menu. The choice is not huge, but the cuisine is simple and of good quality. The restaurant also offers a menu, with some delicious snacks like the eggplant and feta salad. To be accompanied by a cold beer.

This restaurant is installed on the roof of the hotel Umaid Bhawan. You can eat there on the terrace, which is very pleasant in the evening when the weather is fine, or at lunchtime in winter. The address is famous for its tandoor cooking, the clay oven in which meat and naans are roasted, which take on delicate smoky notes. The very varied menu offers a large choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. But it is a bit expensive, even if the quality is good. To note, there is a pleasant little bar on the first floor that allows you to extend the evening.

It is better to come a little earlier if you want to have a place on the terrace, because the address is popular and the tables along the street are quickly taken. The food is good and the menu offers Indian and continental classics that you can find everywhere in the city: curries, dal, rotis, pizzas... and the inevitable Israeli specialties!

As its name suggests, this restaurant offers quality cuisine inspired by the north of the country. The tandoor is in operation for lunch and dinner (which is rare), which allows you to enjoy a chicken tikka or kebabs for lunch. Some Chinese dishes are also on the menu (especially noodles) and snacks. The setting, if it is impersonal, is nonetheless comfortable. The tables are large and surrounded by benches and the room is air-conditioned. The staff will be able to guide you in your choice if the menu leaves you wondering. A good place.

A nice little cafe that has a walk on the street, just steps from the lake. Held by the same owners as the Tiger, it is especially appreciated for its espresso (as at home) and its delicious pastries. Let yourself be tempted by the roll roll.

This restaurant offers a superb view on the Ganges and on the astronomical observatory of the palace built by the raja of Amber. The traditional North Indian cuisine is honored and the dishes are very copious. On the other hand, the prices are quite high (you pay for the place) and the service can sometimes be a bit dry. For the anecdote, the restaurant has this name because during the monsoon fresh water dolphins (the susu) used to come regularly to swim in the waters of the Ganges, but only during the monsoon.

It is the first of the restaurants on the road leading to the bridge and the fort, its menu is more or less the same as that of its colleagues, with a delicious eggplant curry. The owner is adorable and cooks especially for sensitive palates by subtly dosing the spices. From the terrace, you can appreciate the animation that reigns at the crossroads, especially in the evening, when the pilgrims come in mass to the temple located on the other side of the road. The place is a bit touristy but still very pleasant.

The address is well known to travelers on a tight budget, many of whom come to Pushkar. They come here to have their meals or simply to rest during the day to taste a homemade lassi. They serve Indian dishes, but also pizzas and salads... The food is more than correct.

This is a good idea to leave for dinner in the very calm Jaïpur. In a reconstituted setting, this rajasthani village delights with its atmosphere, but also by its typical (very spicy) thalis. Dance, puppet and music shows, camel or elephant rides, every evening from until.

Located on the ninth floorof the Clarks Avadh Hotel, this restaurant is recommended if you want to taste the real (fine) Lucknow cuisine. Try the platter of different kebabs (taron ka haar) or the vegetarian kebabs, such as hariyali, a specialty made of spinach and lentils. Traditional musicians come to play intimate music in the evening. From the terrace, the view of the Gomti River and the city's monuments is splendid. An elegant place for a romantic dinner or to satisfy the gourmet.

Bad luck for the undecided ones, the choice is so vast that they will take some time to choose a dish. Madame Lamo offers Indian, Chinese, Tibetan, Italian, Mexican, Thai specialties... There is something for everyone. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes available. For breakfast, too, the options are numerous. The dishes are copious, the stomachs will be satiated, however the service is very slow, because everything is prepared to order. You have to be patient! Pleasant atmosphere.

Handi delights lovers of grilled meats: tandoori, kebab, chicken or mutton tikka, butter chicken... Obviously, vegetarians will not be left out. All this is served in a "Rajsthan rural" setting with walls covered with dried and painted mud. The large, dark room behind a blackened window may seem unattractive, but these are the standards of "cool" in India. A good place to enjoy tandoori at lunchtime. This is exceptional, since the ovens are usually only lit in the evening.

Located on the tenth floor of The Lindsay Hotel, Blue and Beyond is rooftop and offers a breathtaking view of the city. You can choose between the air-conditioned room and a very airy terrace. Ideal to admire the Victoria Memorial illuminated from 19:45. It serves quality Indian and international cuisine. The number of places on the terrace being limited, think to reserve. It's a pity that the atmosphere is a bit dull and that the waiters are a bit off...

Popular restaurant established in 1968 to feed the mass of pilgrims coming to Haridwar. In a modern and air-conditioned room, they serve good dishes from the south of the country(masala dosa, idly, etc.), and dishes from the north of India, such as the very good chole bathura (chickpea curry with fried bread). Some Chinese recipes, sandwiches and drinks are also on the menu. The menu is quite extensive, it is difficult to make a choice. However, we prefer the original establishment in Rishikesh, the neighbor of Haridwar.

The name of this temple of Kashmiri gastronomy is a play on words referring to Chor Bazaar, the "thieves' market". It is true that the décor of the establishment, half flea market and half antique store, resembles a certain cave prized by forty thieves. Here, you can discover the ritual of the wazwan, a farandole of 36 dishes to be tasted in good company. For a more digestible overview, we recommend the buffet. The restaurant regularly updates its menu so that its regulars do not get bored.

Located near the train station, on the main street, Amberwalla is a good place to try some South Indian specialties or to enjoy a hearty thali. Only good vegetarian dishes are served in this air-conditioned room. You will find there a local canteen atmosphere with a rather ordinary setting and an expeditious service, which does not seem to disturb the exclusively Indian clientele. For a small price, the Amber thali is an excellent choice, tasty and very nourishing. Restaurant not to be missed for the small budgets.

This nice restaurant is located at the entrance of the Mandawa fort. Its terrace offers a beautiful view of the city and the Mandawa Castle. You will taste an authentic cuisine with cumin rice. On Sundays, a puppet show is offered to the customers. You will also find Mahendra, a French-speaking waiter, who studied at the Alliance française de Pondichéry, who knows the city like the back of his hand and will make you discover it on request.

Located on the terrace of a hotel, a little away from the city, this restaurant is nevertheless worth your visit. The food is really delicious and the prices are quite moderate. The chef worked for several years in Japan, before coming back home to Khajuraho. The products are ultra-fresh and the dishes are prepared to order, which is why you will have to wait a little. You can choose to eat outside, on the pleasant roof terrace laid out like an urban garden, or in the air-conditioned dining room with its contemporary setting.

We eat very well and prices are not exaggerated. Dosas dosas are particularly copious and delicious. The best address of the city. On the other hand, the hotel, very noisy, is not up to the height.
