On the detour of the historic streets of Bourges, take the time to take a break in a very unusual place. Hidden to the secular eye, in the small alleyway that runs along the ramparts, at the top of Bourbonnoux Street, Cak-T is a tea room set up in an enchanting setting, a magnificent arched room (old hall of the twelfth century of warheads), clinging to the Gallo-romo rampart ain't. Here, in the darkness of this unusual place and a little out of time, let yourself take the time of a cake and tea. Created by Evelyne in 1994, the place has since been taken over by his daughter Aude. On shelves, the famous Monin de Bourges syrups and white porcelain spice pots dress the open kitchen. Even if you are not hungry, you will find it hard to resist the temptation of exclusively home-made pastries, whose recipes come from family know-how. Special mention for lemon pie, an unavoidable one! The famous teas Mariage Frères are offered with over 17 different flavors. The teapots are original and the coffee is served in an individual Cona. On each table you will find small games, puzzles, charades and guessing, as well as small books. If it is beautiful, enjoy the sun terrace at the foot of the rampart opposite a small garden, sheltered from eyes, cars, and modern times. A delicious address with unusual charm.

Beurre Noisette is so named because pastry chef Clémence's favorite cake calls for hazelnut butter! This cake, the mainstay of the house, is the financier. Here, pastries are homemade from the heart. She bakes flavors that go very well together, such as pepper and chocolate, but also tries out amazing combinations of tastes, notably in a lemon-hazelnut tart. Brunch is now served every day, with a special offer for children on Wednesdays. We love the sourdough toast and shakshuka. We love them.

In the heart of Amboise, discover this colourful family tea room. The welcome is charming: the daughter (Clara) is the pastry chef and the mother (Isabelle) is the waitress. A pleasant and cosy place for various times of the day: at breakfast with two copious formulas, between noon and two for a soup or a dish of the day, at snack time for a surprise box, or a plaid formula for comfort on the sofa. You can also order a decorated cake for your special occasions. Lots of colours and delicacies to discover on the spot or to take away!

A terrace on rue Colbert, and a room with a soft, trendy atmosphere, with its comfortable armchairs, wooden counter and world coffees to sip! Not only is the range of coffees wide, but the roasting and preparation methods are just as varied. Espresso or slow coffee, hot or iced, it's all excellent, and the sweet (cookies, scones...) or savory (quiches, only on rue Colbert) snacks are the perfect complement. We love the charming welcome!

At Chocolats et Chimères, you can gaze out over the Pont-Canal from a shady terrace and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the landscape. This artisan chocolatier-confiseur-glacier's window display is such that not to stop would almost be a crime of lèse-majesté against all these elaborately sweet delights. Set up in the charming former guardhouse, his homemade ice creams with fresh fruit are a huge hit. And his chocolate creations: ganaches, rochers, bouchées... likewise, we love them. Hervé Roussel loves to amaze young and old alike. So much the better, because it's delicious!

Facing the Clos Lucé, Le Maître d'Art offers you a sweet or savory break to enjoy on the spot or to take away. Cheesecake, iced nougat, tiramisu and other delicacies are concocted every day on the spot. On the savory side, you will find quiches, salads and soups made from local products. A dish of the day is also on the menu, it varies every day according to the fresh products of the moment. A large choice of hot or cold drinks. A nice address for the small hungers between the residence of Leonardo da Vinci and the castle of Amboise.

Juliette is not only the chef at l'Instant, but also a champion, having been awarded the 2021 prize for the quality of her vegan pastries. In a cosy setting, seated on a welcoming sofa, at a dressmaker's table, or in the basement for greater intimacy, you can enjoy the peace and quiet to read, chat, play games or even watch a film! All while enjoying tea, fruit juice, pastries or savoury dishes. Juliette also takes orders for buffets and special cakes (galettes des rois, logs, birthdays...) Proof that vegan rhymes with gourmet!

A beautiful address that combines a cookie factory and a tearoom. Taken over in June 2022 by Mathilde and Mickaël, daughter and son-in-law of the former manager, the store sells cookies made on the premises. The welcome is pleasant, the range of teas on offer extensive, and the confectionery very tasty. On the savoury side, you'll find a range of snacks, including focaccia with a new filling every week. A delicious sweet and savory brunch is offered with a different menu every weekend. When the weather's fine, come and enjoy a delicious meal on the terrace!

For the compulsive bruncheurs, it is the address not to be missed since the brunch is proposed à la carte every day of opening between 10 am and 1:30 pm. But that's not all! Generous croque-monsieur, filled pancakes, soup, and of course everything needed for a hearty snack are offered every day. The room with a view of the kitchen gives access to a quiet back terrace, ideal for enjoying pastries, a small lunch dish or a brunch. The selection of teas is varied, and we don't say no to a homemade hot chocolate. A little friendly advice: remember to book for the weekend brunch, as it is very popular and places are limited.
