On the screen, a quality program, documentaries, and films for the general public, in subtitled V.O. Created in 1997 by theatrical improvisation pros, this company offers weekly workshops and improvisation courses for all ages and levels, from children to adults, and even activities in companies. It is known by the public for its Catch impros in Chambray. On the program: a ring, a real-fake security service, a referee, themes submitted by the public, and comedians who invent hilarious stories. With the show "Impro marmot" for children, and the shows of amateur comedians, there is plenty to do!

This contemporary music venue (SMAC) is dedicated to jazz, since 1983 ! It is an institution of jazz in the Centre region, but not only! In addition to welcoming big names of jazz or emerging talents, the concert hall takes part in the festivals Ecoute-Voir, Super Flux, Emergences, Chinon en Jazz... With the Choeur du Petit Faucheux and its teenage singers, and its socio-educational activities, the venue is open to all. And with the new programmer Antoine de La Roncière arriving in 2021, we can't wait to discover new projects.

As is so aptly stated, the Theatre du Portal Sud is located… just opposite the South Gate of the Cathedral. At the bottom of the courtyard, on the left, at the top of the wooden stairs, behind a heavy curtain: This is where this tiny theatre of character is perched. Yesterday's and today's pieces are played in front of a public who cries a little, laughs a lot, shudder passionately, and loves madness. It should not be missed: The 100% Theatre Portal Sud, which turns out to be games delicacies. Ideally located a stone's throw from the train station, this multiplex is also halfway between its big brother, the Deux-Lions, and the Studio art house cinema. The general public and the more confidential, V.O. and V.F. films are mixed together every week. There are regular special cycles (Disney classics, Harry Potter saga, Horror night...). As for comfort, everything is there: air conditioning, Dolby digital sound, digital image, PMR access, 3D, and a large choice of sweets for the greedy! Since its creation in 1794, the Opéra de Tours has established itself as a national opera house. In its splendid Italian-style auditorium, director Laurent Campellone and Patricia Petibon, godmother of the 2023-2024 season, present women fighting against their destiny and diktats. Other news: a partnership with Milan's prestigious Teatro alla Scala; and the creation of an "Orchestre Populaire de l'Opéra de Tours". What's more, the Opéra has been declared a historic monument - all the more reason to go and see it!

The cinema Les Carmes has the charm of the art house cinemas, offering a specialized program of films. It is the last one in town that dares to show films that are not seen in mainstream cinemas, but everyone can find pleasure in watching rare works, openly defended by the friendly team. There is also a strong program for children as well as for opera lovers. A fourth room has also been added to this place where the darkness is a jewel box for dreams..

Located as its name suggests in the Deux Lions district, this multiplex is the family and general public cinema of the CGR franchise in Tours. Large parking lot, hall with video games and candy counter: access is easy and you can wait for a while. The twelve theatres are accessible to the handicapped and comfortable (armchairs spaced more than one metre apart). The programming plays the card of big productions, which can often be enjoyed in 3D. We love the ICE-Immersive Cinema Experience, with its reclining club chairs, 4K resolution image and Dolby Atmos sound. Previews are frequent, and when you leave the theatre you can enjoy the surrounding restaurants.

With its Italian style, the Teatro de Chartres is proudly on the edge of the boulevard offering extremely rich programming. In fact, in the heart of this magnificent red and gold theatre, and in this empowered stage, classic plays and contemporary pieces are played. It also happens to the dancers, the musicians, and the comics to trample on the floor of this old theatre, the time of some performances. Without forgetting the shows for the (very) young public, who will undoubtedly be surprised by the magic of the place. Chato' C, it is a concert hall for 600 people managed by Asso' Mars and labelled Smac (scene of contemporary music). But also a Space club is in the end, beginning, middle of evening or listen to a concert more intimate than in the spacious dining room. On the programme of Chato' do rock, the one folk, jazz, blues, reggae... Explosive square. All program on the website.

Nello is an emblematic figure of the Touraine scene thanks to his cabaret created in 1994. 2022 rhymes with new premises, Velpeau district. A bigger place, and a show always surprising thanks to the numerous artists who participate. Humor, transformism, dance in the purest tradition of the music-hall cabaret parade on stage, where Nello often plays the presenters or the transformists. All this is done with a meal, for a nice evening far from the routine. And you can even book the place for a private party. It's really "La Belle Vie"!

From the old cinema that was installed here in the last century, it only kept the name and facade of white stone. But since then, it has grown considerably, and today we can see around this old window, a metal lace that gives its appearance to the imposing building. If it can give the impression of being still in work, the interior of the cinema is very spacious - with the exception perhaps of the entrance hall, which is crowded when the crowd presses to see one of the films in the poster. Fortunately, the rooms are very comfortable and rather elegant. Every week, more than films are offered, and there are usually for all tastes. Le Temps Machine is a contemporary music venue. When you step through its doors, you'll discover emerging groups and established stars of rock, rap, electro and pop... And don't forget to give a helping hand to local artists with special evenings dedicated to them. Established in 2011, the venue has made a name for itself and a regular following, attracted by its varied prices (including for small budgets) and eclectic programming. With a 600-seat venue, a "Club" space for more intimate concerts, rehearsal studios, and a library-resource center, Le Temps Machine is a must for music lovers.

It was in the prestigious and intimate part of Saint-Julien Chapel that the Threshold Theatre was elected. From October to May, and surprise surprises, this little theatre offers you programming rich in musical emotions… among others. For it is, above all, a theatre, hence the splendour of the French language: some parts are of course programmed; and above all, the end of the year shows with the shows of the workshops. Indeed, the Threshold Theatre also has the status of theatre and dance school, for small and large. Particularity of this theatre school: it engages with atypical school-based schools, providing courses for people with disabilities for example.

The two Pathé of Orléans and Saran cinemas welcome you every day and offer some movies in V.O and in 3 D. You will still have to pay € 2 for the 3 D meetings and € 1 for the pair of reusable glasses. Côté equipment, the Saran de Saran is designed on the same par as its two congeners in Orléans: giant screens, digital Dolby, large armchairs with cup door, what to eat on site… with a nice summer terrace and a Häagen-Dazs counter for the Halles, in continuous service from until. In these temples, a little more user friendliness would not harm, but in obscure rooms the magic of the seventh art works here as elsewhere!

Do not say "Vinci" but Palais des Congrès, since the place has changed its name in 2018. But this building designed by the architect Jean Nouvel has not changed, since the "liner" (as nicknamed by the Tourangeaux not very seduced by the building) still has 22 rooms and 4,500 m² of exhibition space to accommodate 190 events per year. Concerts of national and international stars, fairs, congresses... And even large exhibitions, the novelty 2022. With its thousands of visitors each year, it is a serious rival for its regional and national competitors.

This theatre troupe settled in Argenton, and established its neighbourhoods in a superb 150-seat tent, the Dibbouk, where it prepares the creations it presents in front of the Argentonnais before starting tours. In 2006, the troupe presented the very marked "Letters to the son" of Vassili Grossman.

No it is not a famous brand of sodas but the Palace of exhibitions and sports! Fully adjustable, the exhibition and sports palace can hold 2 200 spectators in seating, it is used for fairs and sports events.

It can accommodate between 250 seats and 450 spectators without the floor. It offers Les Jeudis de la Boîte, concerts by artists in the current musical movement.
