A fine wine list to go with it all, as well as homemade beers (including Farmhouse Hoogan and Beaufort brewed at MaBrasserie) and private imports.

The O'Thym restaurant welcomes you in a warm and sober atmosphere, with its brick walls and its tables laid out like a café. The cuisine highlights quality Quebec products, from small local productions, through inventive seasonal dishes. The result: modern creations with original flavor combinations. Jerusalem artichoke with hemp and rabiole purée or lamb with cabbage, rutabaga, honey, ginger and miso are examples of what you can find at this table, which we highly recommend.

Although it is far away from the centre, Verbena is a modern bistro in a very fashionable neighborhood.

Occupying the former premises of the Siddhartha, Lake Inez is a good restaurant in the Little India district specialized in international inspired dishes, supported by a very nice wine list. We already love the interior with its eclectic and vintage style (mention to the old wooden cabinets at the bar). Each dish conceived by the chef and his brigade is a gourmet invitation to discover the different flavors of the world, without falling into traditional cuisine. The menu offers small and large dishes, to share or not.

The Saloon has been one of the high points of the Village for more than 25 years. A trendy and very popular restaurant, it is mainly known for its creative local and international cuisine with generous portions. The choice is vast, from classic nachos to tartars, mac and cheese, poutine or various burgers, after sipping one of their many cocktails. The service is always courteous and efficient. And just to satisfy all the senses, DJs take over the decks in the evening for those who wish to stay up late!

We're in good hands at this attractive resto-bar set above an Asian grocery store. Poincaré's creators all come from well-known microbreweries, and the chef, who is passionate about lacto-fermentation, has come up with a number of small dishes and preserves (all made on the premises) to enjoy over a glass. Excellent wines and cocktails, in addition to a fine selection of beers. Try the fermented fries with shallot confit mayonnaise. The ideal place after a visit to Chinatown or before a show at the SAT.

Beer Bros, as its name indicates, is a restaurant dedicated to beer, a growing trend in the country. The dishes are international with, of course, some classic pub types. For the smallest appetites, a deli section offers a wide selection of sandwiches, to be tasted on site or to take away. The menu of beer and barrel beers will certainly make the amateurs smile, carefully chosen by the restaurant's bièrologue.

Those familiar with the now-defunct Mezcla will recognize the touch of chef Marcel Larrea, who trained at Cordon Bleu and worked at Astrid & Gastón alongside legendary chef Gastón Acurio, both in Lima, Peru. The menu is as diverse as the bar's décor, offering ceviche, scallop and parmesan tiradito, dumplings, duck anticucho and other fusion delights. The cocktails include the Pisco Sour, reputed to be the best in town. A real treat!

A member in good standing of Toronto's trendy culinary destinations, this gourmet address is run by none other than renowned chef Susur Lee, the same chef who opened the now defunct Susur and Madeline's. Inspired by his many travels, he offers a multi-flavoured cuisine with Asian and French influences. The concept revolves around dishes to share, exotic cocktails and a lounge atmosphere. Nice selection of wines by the glass or by the bottle as well. Reservation highly recommended on weekends.

It looks like an old English pub, but the menu is absolutely topical, vegetarian dishes included.

A crazy address in Montreal! You only have to see the lamps hanging from the ceiling to understand that everything is possible here, both in terms of decoration and food. The old mannequins and the walls decorated with buttons remind us of the old haberdashery that occupied the place. Bonus: the bay window overlooking the street, the beautiful terrace in season and a "lovers' lounge" for an intimate meal. On the plate, quality is not to be outdone. The subtle sweet and sour combinations and the enhancement of the leg of lamb, duck or game will delight the gourmets.
