À LA BONNE VÔTRE

Regional cuisine restaurant €€
5/5
1 review

A beautiful restaurant in the heart of downtown, À la Bonne Vôtre offers fine local cuisine that's both original and delicious. The chef relies on local produce and varies his menu according to what's available: foie gras from Québec mulard duck, organic charcuterie from Ferme Rheintal, pork from La Jambonnière, beef from La Bouchée d'Or, northern shrimp from Québec, cheeses from Fromagerie du Presbytère, market garden produce from Serres Verrier... A table that respects its terroir! Bonus: a superb wine list.

LE PIED BLEU

Bouchon lyonnais €€
5/5
1 review

Le Pied Bleu is a charcuterie and bouchon Québécois inspired by Lyon. We recommend "le tour de tripes", a 14-course sharing menu, and the tasty homemade cheeses. A playful and convivial cuisine, the slate features offal, meat and fish, not forgetting the famous boudin, worthy of an AOC, which has won five medals in Mortagne-au-Perche, France. Also well worth a visit are the bar's home-made charcuterie (to take away or enjoy on the premises), and its "cabanes d'automne" (autumn cabins), which are being set up in various locations across Quebec.

For many, Le Billig would serve the best buckwheat and wheat pancakes in town. It is even possible to make your own cake by combining the ingredients of your choice. Cider bowls, morning brunch and bistro dishes are also on offer. Also take a look at the Billig Sports Troquet, which broadcasts European soccer and sports matches, hockey, etc. This part remains open until midnight every night.

LA MAISON CHEZ NOUS

Regional cuisine restaurant €€
5/5
1 review

Superb table offering a discovery of the terroir with a high level of flavours that reflects the harvests and seasons. On the menu, let's start with smoked Marieville duck and maple jelly with Shefford Acerum, or bison carpaccio with sea buckthorn. Then follow the main courses, which include, among others, Brome Lake duck, Quebec lamb and seafood arrivals. All that remains is to sink into delicacies with one of the delicious desserts, to be served with a plate of Quebec cheeses. A rural address that never disappoints.

After an escapade in the beautiful and verdant Bic National Park, treat yourself at the coastal canteen Chez Saint-Pierre. Colombe Saint-Pierre, a renowned chef, is a passionate self-taught lover of life, and therefore of cooking. She wants people to become aware of the richness of their own food heritage and she reflects her personality through her creations. Here, the smallest resources of the land are used. Bonus: a wine bar and an oyster bar also on site from 4pm.

CAFÉ DU QUAI

Crperie
4.5/5
2 reviews

This café owes its reputation to its traditional Breton crêpes. Savory, sweet or flambéed, they can be enjoyed at any time of day. We particularly recommend La Terroir with red deer sausage, blueberries, onion confit and sauerkraut, and Breizh with salted butter caramel and brandy flambé. Salads, sandwiches and paninis are also on the menu, as are organic fair-trade coffees (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and its exclusive beer, La Marée Haute, a Saison brewed by local microbrewery La Chasse-Pinte.

CAFÉ BOHÈME

Regional cuisine restaurant €€
3.8/5
5 reviews

Under new owners since 2021 and housed in a beautiful old-fashioned house in the heart of the village, this café-bistro is a true Tadoussac institution. Our suggestions: croque-matin or crepe with mushrooms and brie cheese in the morning; Nordic shrimp baguette or vegan poutine at lunchtime; roasted Arctic char fillet, seafood risotto or vegan gnocchi in the evening. Top it all off with one of our homemade desserts (try the Affogato or pastries), accompanied by an organic, fair-trade coffee.

CHEZ MATHILDE

Mireille and Jean-Sébastien's little restaurant is considered one of the best in Tadoussac, if not in the region. Local products are very popular, especially those from the North Shore, and everything is prepared with precision and creativity. The team works with many producers to supply themselves with northern fruits, wild mushrooms, sea or land products, etc. A beautiful gourmet address, sometimes accompanied by musicians. To discover: the book Le Festin de Mathilde dedicated to the North Shore, its magic and its products.

SAGAMITÉ

Sagamité has finally risen from the ashes, still at the same address but in a revamped venue that resolutely honours the First Nations. The interior design, the artifacts, the huge totem poles... it's all worth the detour! On the plate, specialties include Sagamité soup, friand de gibier, Yatista dinner (a choice of 4-course gibbet) and deer and elk medallions. Coming in 2024: the opening of a pub and microbrewery in an adjacent building.

Located on the historic site of La Grave, this café-bistro occupies the premises of a former Magdalen general store. For the little ones, a selection of sandwiches and snacks is available. Bonus: great cultural and musical programming. This mythical address is worth a visit!

PATUREL'S SHORE HOUSE RESTAURANT

Regional cuisine restaurant €€

1 review

With a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking Shediac Bay, Paturel's Shore House Restaurant could already satisfy many visitors. But the place has made its reputation by the quality of its food in general and its seafood in particular. If we add that the service is of excellent quality and that the prices are reasonable, here is a very nice address for a gourmet break and that is well worth the small detour in Grand-Barachois.

LES ÎLES EN VILLE

Regional cuisine restaurant
4/5
1 review

You will find the spirit of the Magdalen Islands in this corner of paradise led by the Painchaud family. The staff were very friendly and helpful. In the summer, the family installs a terrace in the back that it embellishes with a miniature sailboat, lobster traps, fishing nets and the Acadian flag. In mid-August, there is a celebration of the region until the early morning. A good old place, as we love them, with an open kitchen where we prepare, according to tradition, the most delicious lobsters in the world, cooked with steam and sea salt. The fruit pot of seafood, cod cakes, and seal (very rich in iron) prepared in burger, sausage or lasagna is refined. For the undecided, the «Tour des Îles» tasting base brings together all the specialties in small quantities. An address not to miss!

Sweet or savoury, pancakes are always welcome at any time of the day in this small local area, housed in the Château Frontenac. Attablé around cute small tables, you can take a well-deserved break, especially after having walked all day in Old Quebec. Our suggestion: Around 16 h, the chocolate crepe, a delight. Of course, the selection of traditional fondue, the delicious chestnuts and gargantuan breakfasts are also to be discovered.
