Coconut trees and well-maintained houses align to the sand beach on the marina side, facing the barbouillées mangroves of the vase beyond Dickson Inlet. From the jetty, boats are sailing on the day on the Reef of coral and imposing white yachts docked there quietly. On the marina, several cafes and restaurants invite you to relax. There is also a shop gallery inside.

It was used to shoot the film We of the Never Forever, the famous novel of Jeannie Gunn, which tells life in the Outback near Mataranka at the turn of the last century. The film can be seen on the site.

This is an approximately 70 km runway to cross the old exploration fields between Pine Creek and Hayes Creek. The area to be discovered is delimited by Stuart Higway and the railway. The best known locations are Brocks Creek mine - Burrunndie - Ban Ban Springs Station - Frances Creek Mine.

(No. 28), which allows to join in 4 X 4 the Lietchfied National Park by the south, can be closed during the rainy season. From Daily River, this route allows the 4 X 4 access to Port Keats in Joseph Bonaparte Golf (permits to cross compulsory Aboriginal territory).
