The café was first opened in 1924 by wine merchant Jens Jørgensen under the name Park Alleens Vinstue. In 1928, it was expanded to include restaurants. Its English pub decor, all wood, dimmed lights, green leather... is still there. But the cooking is Danish, the smørrebrød are copious and the prices affordable. Background music like piano bar on tape, background noise of international restaurants. Smart info: for once, there is a map in French! Opposite the town hall, as the name suggests.

The story begins in 1898 with the installation of a boat rental company, between boat and rowboat. Soon a modest café opened its doors. Since then, you can eat excellent snacks halfway between French and Danish cuisine,(smørrebrød obliges...) for a good quality-price ratio and, especially, in a unique setting. Located on a pontoon moored along the canal, surrounded by the 18th century facades of Christianshavn, in the middle of ducks and ships of all kinds!

The brewery is located in the City Hall building, formerly occupied by a police station. H.C. Andersen's grandmother stayed in one of these cells after the birth of a child out of wedlock. The company that owns Bavarian Brewery Technologies works with brewer-distillers in the United States, Canada, England, Korea and Australia. From the entrance, you can see an impressive copper boiler where a master brewer is regularly active. Many traditional Danish dishes are prepared with beer.
