This very nice bar is always busy, especially in the summer, probably because of its huge and great terrace overlooking Chaves. The inhabitants as well as the visitors love this place. Installed in the ramparts of the city, the establishment has beautiful walls of old stones which, combined with a modern and coloured decoration, give it a crazy charm. Good music always appreciable at the end of the day. You can eat with your family or relax most of the evening with friends while sipping delicious cocktails with or without alcohol.

A little hidden on the right of the statue of this dear Adamastor, the giant of the Storms (depicted by Luís de Camões in his Lusiades), it is a busy space, which offers a superb view of the city from two beautiful terraces. The very friendly welcome recommends caipirinhas, vitamin juice and snacks... If it is too cool, blankets are distributed to observe, without worries, the sunset on the deck of April 25 (sublime!) and dive gradually into the night, sometimes animated by small concerts or DJ performances.

Probably the most mythical café in Lisbon, once frequented by politicians and especially modernist artists and writers. This historical monument in its own right, which opened its doors in 1905, continues to attract tourists with its Art Nouveau façade and its grandiose interior decorated with gilding, large mirrors stitched by the ages and painted ceilings. The terrace is as lively as the interior. El Rock Bar is also open during the day. One of the emblematic cafés of the city of Porto that opened its doors in 1909. In this huge room with its large wooden tables, people come during the day to drink a coffee or eat a dish of the day. A local institution, the popular house of the sympathetic Fernando Pereira, a famous guitarist who accompanies the greats on tour, is worth points. Its summer terrace with a small stage, located in a rustic setting, proves to be very convivial, whether you are in a group or alone. Recommended for dinner rather than lunch.

A trendy bar with a mini terrace on the street that doesn't just serve drinks. Natural fruit juices, wrapsand pancakes are a hit in the city with locals and visitors alike. The Bretons will surely criticize the latter, but who cares, the essential is elsewhere: it is to be found in the lively evenings organized by the house where the atmosphere of the 1980s is sometimes in full swing. Pipa Velha is a very nice bar, emblematic in Porto for more than 30 years, where to go at any time from the beginning of the evening until half of the night. The menu will offer you good snacks(pesticides) and drinks (alcoholic or not) at very good prices. We especially appreciate the relaxed atmosphere with a good musical program. Totally relaxed! Some people say that they drink the best white sangria in Porto, others say that the red one is better. Smoking and non-smoking areas. A recommended address.

Close to the station, on the other side of the railway line, this musical bar with terrace row in the evening (especially at weekends) a part of the alternative and intelligent fauna of Sintra. The decoration of this bar is quite eclectic with large frames on the wall and a motorcycle on the ceiling (don't ask why). In this setting nicely decorated and animated by artistic evenings with a varied musical background, trendy customers enjoy a beer (at a good price!) or a cocktail with friends. A stone's throw from Mãe da Agua and the Amoreiras garden, with access via João Penha Street, it is nestled in a small house nestled at the top of a flight of steps. To complete a romantic walk in the neighbourhood, this precious and intimate little bar, opened in 1972, is absolutely perfect! Thanks to its excellent cocktails and digestives, this unusual address attracts an after-dinner clientele. The waiter in costume walking us out the door tells us that O Procópio belongs to the ex-wife of the manager of the Pavilhão Chines!

With its superb terrace offering a panoramic view, Taverna Lusitana is already scoring points. You will be able to taste excellent products of the region: cheeses, wines, cold meats, honeys, jams, cookies... and drink mead on draught or a coffee to rest after the visit of the village. Warm and friendly atmosphere, nice welcome. For those who wish to extend their stay, the tavern has one room and two studios with kitchenette. All are equipped with television, heating and wifi.

This old red double-decker bus is still a trendy place with a terrace where you can drink a few copos until 2 or 3 in the morning, with a background of Anglo-Saxon music. Most of the clientele are students who like to party until noon! If you are older, you might feel out of place but the atmosphere is nice and it's a good place to meet people. During the day however, it is calmer and more heterogeneous. You can also eat good pancakes and watch soccer games. Not to be missed!

A disco bar has taken place in former stables. He likes to run the Djs for quite tonic evenings that do not start before meia-noite.

This is one of the must-see places in Ericeira. A big part of the night life happens here, for sure! Of course with this breathtaking view on the sunset, we are conquered. This beach bar is attached to the hotel You and The Sea and the restaurant Jangada. Moreover, you will be able to enjoy on the spot the food prepared by this last one. DJ sets are organized regularly and, icing on the cake, the artist Bordalo II decorated the place with his impressive sculptures made of various materials found in the street.

A little away from it all on the way from the Assembly of the Republic to Príncipe Real, a place founded in 1978 that's extraordinary and comfortable enough to take a break or spend the evening. Several salons follow one another. With all its collections, the first one is furiously reminiscent of the Pavilhão Chines, created later in 1986: this is to be expected, since it was the same decorator Luíz Pinto Coelho who designed them. There's even a parrot to greet visitors. It's all part of a chic, somewhat exotic London pub vibe where you ring the doorbell.

Between Estrela and Campo de Ourique, it is one of the best kept secrets of the city. This mini Pavilhão Chines (see Bairro Alto) is a hidden but very cosy space, with lots of beautiful objects and some pictures hanging on the walls. Named after the satirical review of cartoonist Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, A Paródia has been offering poetry, theatre and music evenings since its opening in 1975 (thanks to a piano placed in one of its small pieces).

A Capela is one of the obligatory addresses of the Bairro Alto, with its nostalgic neo-baroque decoration. The place is very lively, especially at the end of the evening. Several resident DJs inspired by various local and international influences are distilling electronic music, dub and groove, installed near the bar. A glamour that will please everyone who wants to move! A Capela's Facebook page broadcasts upcoming events almost daily. An undeniable place to have fun with friends and meet new people.

So there you have it, you'll quickly appreciate the setting and its quality musical ambience (jazz, reggae, drum'n'bass...), which varies according to the DJ. This is Fernanda's bar, the oldest bar in town also known as Bar da Cher. The entrance is surrounded by plants that frame the door. The space is not very big but we like the atmosphere of former days which emerges from it. It is a bar of regulars above all but it welcomes everyone. Here, we are far from the bars frequented by nomadic workers. It is a place which knew to keep its authenticity. All its history hangs on the walls: frames, photos of customers. It is really one of the emblematic places of Ericeira.

In the evening, the place presents small concerts or musical atmospheres (latin, pop-rock, reggae, disco).

This bar has been open since 1989! In a rather cosy setting with lounges, in the heart of the city, near the famous and superb Pipa fountain, the tables of friends chat while sipping cocktails and long drinks at rather affordable prices. Floor imitating the calçadas of the street and portraits of famous singers painted in black and white on the walls. This address is very popular on weekends, but much quieter during the week.
