The Consell Regulador Denominació d'Origen Queso Mahón-Menorca is an organisation that was set up in 1985 to ensure the authenticity of Mahón-Menorca cheese (D.O.C. - Denomination of Controlled Origin). It is in charge of controlling the quality of the production and marking all the pieces. The cheese, made with whole cow's milk, is nowadays produced in about twenty farms. There are three types: soft, semi-dry and dry.

Founded in 1985, this house is the most emblematic of the eight companies that always produce cheese in Casar de Cáceres. At the entrance to its production site, you will find a shop that will also allow you to test the new cheeses offered by this house, which has received many prizes and now diversifies thanks to goat cheese.

Here you will find the wines and cheeses of the small hotel-agriturismo (8 rooms) and the restaurant Hort Sant Patrici, the result of an artisanal production and in small quantities. An interesting visit during which you will discover the secrets of cheese and wine production, with a tasting of traditional island products at the end of the tour. We recommend that you take home the house merlot, excellent! Self-guided or guided tours of the cheese factory and the wine cellar are available on request.

It was the first place that commercialized the Bouteille bottle milk. The location is very charming. You can buy it, milk, cream, cheese, blanks. Possibility to dine on site. However, success does not make the staff particularly friendly.

This cooperative cheese factory at a small half a dozen kilometres east of Laujar de Andarax allows to make the full of good goat cheeses in Alta Evora: queso fresco (fresh cheese), tierno (tender and fruity), semi-curado, curado (refined) or preserved in olive oil as well as requesón (white cheese).

Located in the central square of Aracena, this shop will delight gourmets who will stop there to stock up on good Iberian hams from the region and also excellent goat's cheese, the house's specialty. All goat cheeses are produced in the family finca, certified organic, and are of course made from raw milk. The maturing is done in a natural way. We can test different forms: cheeses in oil, with chilli pepper, rosemary, herbs. And according to different maturing times, from the most tender to the driest.

Robert Camps is a small producer of handmade cheese based on goat milk. The quality of its cheeses has been rewarded several times during regional and international competitions.

Antonio carries on a family tradition by selling cow's milk with a cookie or flan. It's fresh and delicious! According to the legend, whoever stops here without drinking his glass of milk and eating his cookie will never succeed in getting married. Marketing before its time when the store was founded! Wedding or not, it is certainly the ideal break to get your strength back after a stroll in the pedestrian center before continuing your journey. Son Mercer de Baix is a well-known Ferreries cheese manufacturer whose white-walled finca (traditional Menorcan rural dwelling dedicated to farming) overlooks 125 ha of pasture where dairy cows graze peacefully. Popular products include the famous D.O.P. Maó-Minorca cheese, as well as more personal but no less delicious creations such as "Coeur de Mua". Son Mercer de Baix's products can be found in a number of prestigious boutiques on the island, as well as on the peninsula.

Founded in 1990, Sa Canova, a manufacturer of top-quality Minorcan cheese, has become a benchmark in the island's gastronomic landscape. While the story began with the traditional production of the famous Mahón-Minorca cheese, Sa Canova went on to produce other cheeses with different flavors and textures, as well as a range of quality dairy products. Various farms on the island provide Sa Canova with excellent milk in large quantities. The Ferreries store is sure to please!

Soraya Bosch and her family passionately run this cheese factory/grocery store, which is highly recommended for the quality local products on offer (spices, oils, jams, honey, cookies, embroidered fabrics), as well as for the incredible cheese and wine tasting sessions on offer! It's also possible to combine the tasting with a guided tour of the stables and production facilities, but that's not all: at Sa Roqueta, you can also take part in cheese-making workshops! Committed to sustainable agriculture and self-sufficiency for the three years it has been in existence, this small structure, owned by a Frenchman but managed by a Menorcan - the friendly and knowledgeable Tònia Ramon - produces an excellent ecological cheese! Unfortunately, the cheese dairy has no fixed point of sale in Ferreries. However, their products can be found in all the best delicatessens on the island, as well as on the stalls of the main artisan markets and gastronomic events.

TastdeMenorca is a small shop located in the pedestrian center of Fornells. Gathering together some of the best artisanal products from the island's small producers, you'll find PDO Queso Mahón Menorca cow, goat and sheep cheeses, as well as embotits (typical cured meats) ranging from the classic sobrassada to carnixua and camot (traditional Menorcan cured meats). Products can be packaged for transport (by plane, boat...). Finally, you can opt for a tasting session before you check out!

Miquel and Coloma, two Menorcan farmers, offer an excellent variety of artisan cheeses. Know-how, experience, tradition and quality! You can find their delicious cheeses on site (direct sale from the farm), as well as in the main supermarkets and grocery stores on Menorca. You'll also find them at markets and gastronomic events around the island. Their farm is on the outskirts of Cuitadella, near the Naveta des Tudons (just past Binigarba Fromages!).
