We would have guessed it from the name alone, but we were not mistaken. The "small bar" is indeed a very small establishment. But that doesn't stop it from being very charming. You will be able to taste its "entrepans", small sandwiches very well made, because they are made from fresh and quality products and in particular from a bread which is excellent. If it is ideal for breakfast, you can also use it for a break "on the go". The icing on the cake is that you will appreciate the kindness of the owner.

In one of the small streets leading to the Plaza Major, you can eat there for really cheap! For 3 €, you can choose between a squid sandwich or fried chorizo, blood sausage, bacon... La Ideal is the meeting place for young people with no money (who keep their money to make the night last as long as possible) and the workers of the neighbourhood. The place is not very attractive and it is always crowded at mealtimes, but it is a good option to eat on the go while strolling around Plaza Mayor. Typical Madrid.
