Pata negra, bellota or serrano can be eaten in sandwiches, by the piece or to take away. Despite the industrial aspect of these "museums", the experience is tasty! And the terrace on the Plaza Mayor is very pleasant...

Not far from the Plaza Nueva you first enter a grocery store, and at the back of the shop with golden letters, there is a small bar where you can nibble on tapas. And it is one of the most famous places for montaditos, those little sandwiches with various fillings. On the walls, photos and bulls' heads testify to the house's strong taste for bullfighting and Holy Week. This kind of place, a classic of Sevillian life, is becoming increasingly rare, so don't miss it.

A must-see gastrobar on Calle San Juan, where exquisite tapas, pintxos and raciones are served around high tables. Fish and shellfish are the main attraction: the tuna tataki is a classic of the house. But don't forget to try the carrillera simmered in red wine... Wine obviously plays a key role in the restaurant's offer: more than a hundred references are offered by the glass, in addition to a superb selection of bottled wines. Our favourite place to eat tapas in the Parte Vieja! Unfortunately, it is no longer a secret for anyone, so you'll have to be patient to place your order, as the place is tiny and always full to bursting! The slate on the wall leaves you dreaming: foie gras pan-fried à la plancha and its apple compote, carrillera (beef) simmered in red wine, suckling pig roasted in beer, grilled octopus in tximitxurri sauce... served as pintxos at the counter, or raciones to share at tables outside. Divine!

What's more, the welcome is very pleasant (and sometimes in French) and the advice always pertinent. Perfectly in the spirit of Malasaña. Happy hour from 5pm to 8pm on Saturdays.

Founded in 1911, it was one of Barcelona's most dazzling hardware stores at the time. But few people know the secrets it harbors: during the Civil War, a secret dining room was built in its basement. Named Club 61, it now serves cocktails in a jazzy atmosphere. The restaurant also offers traditional cuisine based on quality local produce, prepared as tapas or more refined Spanish dishes. This restaurant on Calle de Nàpols, linked to the famous Casa Lolea du Born, is named after Pepeta Moreu, Gaudi's muse. A woman in the shadows who nevertheless left her mark on the city. The atmosphere is relaxed, mixing locals, pilgrims and tourists. A very good place to meet people of all kinds on the sidelines of the Compostela route.

Opened in the spring of 2016 by a friendly French restaurant couple, Valerie and Franck, this chain specializes in preparing take-out picnics (up to 70 meals), made with fresh, and local, produce whenever possible: salads, poke bowls, sandwiches, desserts, fresh juices, and homemade beverages, offering vegetarian and vegan options for almost every dish, and even lending out a cooler and icepack. Everything is good, carefully prepared and eco-friendly, and the location is central, just steps from the Cathedral.
