MUSEO DEL JAMÓN

A ham museum? No doubt, you're in the Spanish capital! In the neighbourhood, tapas shops and bars abound and welcome tourists passing through and Madrilenians in a hurry. To taste the different flavours of the country's deli meats, here's an excellent, inexpensive address that celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2018. Pata negra, bellota or serrano can be eaten in sandwiches, by the piece or to take away. Despite the industrial aspect of these "museums", the experience is tasty! And the terrace on the Plaza Mayor is very pleasant...

Not far from the Plaza Nueva you first enter a grocery store, and at the back of the shop with golden letters, there is a small bar where you can nibble on tapas. And it is one of the most famous places for montaditos, those little sandwiches with various fillings. On the walls, photos and bulls' heads testify to the house's strong taste for bullfighting and Holy Week. This kind of place, a classic of Sevillian life, is becoming increasingly rare, so don't miss it.

TASTAVIN

Tapas bar

A must-see gastrobar on Calle San Juan, where exquisite tapas, pintxos and raciones are served around high tables. Fish and shellfish are the main attraction: the tuna tataki is a classic of the house. But don't forget to try the carrillera simmered in red wine... Wine obviously plays a key role in the restaurant's offer: more than a hundred references are offered by the glass, in addition to a superb selection of bottled wines. One of our favourite addresses in Logroño!

Our favourite place to eat tapas in the Parte Vieja! Unfortunately, it is no longer a secret for anyone, so you'll have to be patient to place your order, as the place is tiny and always full to bursting! The slate on the wall leaves you dreaming: foie gras pan-fried à la plancha and its apple compote, carrillera (beef) simmered in red wine, suckling pig roasted in beer, grilled octopus in tximitxurri sauce... served as pintxos at the counter, or raciones to share at tables outside. Divine!

Turning in the small streets, one inevitably ends up in this very small space with a vaulted roof and one returns there because its customers are faithful. He is English but won over by the local heat, she is Andalusian and just as friendly. A small bar and a few chairs along the wall but we often stay standing, which is not serious since everyone talks with everyone. The tapas are renewed regularly, but don't hesitate to take advantage of it to try the Olot potatoes, one of the specialities of the house.

Located in a former 19th-century grocery store. Some of the original wooden shelves and hydraulic floors (from the old shop) are still preserved. The imprint of the past is present in many nooks and crannies, and the fusion of old and new makes this restaurant a warm and welcoming space. A gastrobar where every detail is meticulous, where every product is skilfully crafted. Quality, local and seasonal products. The place is designed for enjoying vintage details while strolling through exquisite flavors.

Through tapas and dishes, Sophie offers an eclectic menu that fuses Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine with Asian and Latin influences. The fusion of local and international products stands out, always playing with seasonal produce. Ideal for combining dinner with cocktails. Sophie is the last of the Balcastro family, Elsa and Fred's little sister, and is both extrovert and a night owl. The glamour of a Parisian bistro and the relaxed ambience of an Italian trattoria with a touch of Spanish movida rock.

Founded in 1911, it was one of Barcelona's most dazzling hardware stores at the time. But few people know the secrets it harbors: during the Civil War, a secret dining room was built in its basement. Named Club 61, it now serves cocktails in a jazzy atmosphere. The restaurant also offers traditional cuisine based on quality local produce, prepared as tapas or more refined Spanish dishes. A wonderful discovery, to be enjoyed at any time of day!

This restaurant on Calle de Nàpols, linked to the famous Casa Lolea du Born, is named after Pepeta Moreu, Gaudi's muse. A woman in the shadows who nevertheless left her mark on the city. The place itself is quite simple, a bright and beautifully arranged bistro, as are the culinary offerings, inspired by the authentic flavors of Casa Lolea. Traditional tapas rub shoulders with contemporary creations, each dish telling its own story. Also noteworthy is Pepeta's excellent collection of sangrias. Lovers beware!

Besides, you can't go wrong, the sign of the bar represents a mushroom and two gambas! Of course this pintxo is not the only one on the menu, and a wide selection awaits you.
