Situated in the countryside of Rollegem, 15 minutes drive from the centre of Kortrijk, all the chef's dishes are cooked with quality products. Some even come from the restaurant's own vegetable garden! Guido will make you discover or rediscover the specialties of the region with a lot of passion. On the menu you will find rabbit à l'Orval, duck breast with orange sauce, smoked pork fillet à la Westmalle. On the sweet side, there are classics such as crème brûlée, tiramisu or iced nougat. There is also a bar if you just want to stop here to quench your thirst with a good Belgian beer after a long bike ride.
CHEZ EDDY
Read moreEddy's, its checkered tablecloths, its old butcher's shop setting... The cuisine is a range of Brussels-Brabant classics. We eat the best vol-au-vent within a 10 km radius, the American is prepared or served with all the ingredients to season it yourself, the duo of blood sausages is copious and absolutely sticks to the idea we have of it, compote and home-made purée. We validate the toast with mushrooms and we recall the inevitable mussels in season. The "royal" French toast does not usurp its qualification: soaked in milk, currants and vanilla ball.
BOECKHAEGE
Read moreA pretty building perched high up on the hillside, a terrace with a splendid view of the Flemish Ardennes: this is a very pleasant way to start. On the plate, elegance is also the order of the day. The cuisine is classic, Franco-Belgian and resolutely gastronomic. Two menus to choose from (3 or 5 courses) feature noble dishes that change with the seasons. For example, you can opt for a guinea fowl fillet with cognac, celeriac, parsnips and kale, or an interesting duckling with shiitake, kale, cranberries and chicory for the main course.
LE PAIN QUOTIDIEN
Read moreThis is a sign across the country. Yet we are far from fast-food chains here: everything is done with fresh products, most of which are organic. Whether for breakfast, lunch or afternoon pies or afternoon pies to enjoy bakery and coffee, we will always find something to eat for a few euros. The oak staircase, parquet and wooden furniture give the place a natural and convivial atmosphere, reinforced by the presence of a large common table where everyone is invited to sit.
VÉNITIEN
Read moreOriginal, trendy and contemporary restaurant, the interior has been relooked by the famous artist Antoine Pinto. The establishment has been run by the same family since 1970. The menu is classic, with Belgian specialities despite the confusing name. A few suggestions are added every day according to the seasons and the market. The sea view from the first floor is superb, as is the terrace on the sea wall. Children are welcome, a playroom is entirely dedicated to them (table football, game console, doll's house...).
LA CANTINE
Read moreWelcome to this beautiful house with its quiet terrace under the trees. If the weather's gray, you'll find comforting benches and cushions to stretch out your arms. The setting is bright and tastefully decorated. The menu is seasonal, ultra-fresh and fairly traditional: beef carpaccio, porcini and pine nut ravioli, baked salmon and peas, grenailles... On the sweet side, the salted butter caramel ice cream is a success. Within these walls, you'll find a concept store selling decorative objects, clothes and books for hipsters.
GRIMBERGEN FENIKSHOF
Read moreAn ideal place to eat a Belgian dish and taste a beer from the abbey of Grimbergen. Finally, it has been more than 220 years since the Grimbergen beer is brewed within the walls of the eponymous abbey, demolished in the 18th century by the French revolutionaries. But since 1950 the brewery Alken-Maes uses this name to produce an amber beer. The monks of today can no longer find the original composition after having gone through 35,000 books... But this did not discourage them: a brewery was relaunched within the abbey itself.
LA BOHEME
Read moreThe atmosphere, the decor, the service and, of course, the good food... All the ingredients are there for you to spend a pleasant moment in this restaurant or on its sunny terrace, in the heart of the Grand' Place. Dominique and her team know how to welcome guests, always with a smile, and Chef Philippe's dishes are a delight. While the meat and fish à la carte are traditional (Black Angus' sole meunière...), the suggestions of the moment are sometimes more exotic. Either way, you'll never be disappointed!
