There aren't many places to eat (well) along route no. 3 from Mariehamn to Lumparland, so when you come across Little Bangkok, you might as well make the most of it (especially on a Sunday lunchtime). No Finnish or Nordic food here, but real Asian dishes, organized à la carte or - the most interesting formula - as an all-you-can-eat buffet. Chicken, pork and fish are deliciously seasoned and served with rice (Cantonese or plain). A fine assortment of sauces is available, and coffee is included in the price.

The delicious restaurant Smör is a true master of Nordic cuisine! Inspired by fresh, seasonal local produce, you will totally succumb to their pike-perch with Icelandic truffle, Finnish beef with potatoes from Lapland or organic Aland lamb with celeriac rave... all in a lovely candlelit atmosphere. And to respect the vegetable and fruit seasons, the menu varies and is adapted every eight weeks. A treat for which we advise you to reserve, especially in the evening.

In an old house full of charm, this restaurant serves good pizzas and proposes a menu of meats and fish. This is a good address to sit down to a meal when you are in Kemi, especially as the welcome is rather pleasant. We go there as much for the varied menu as for the place, in the middle of the park and very close to the shore, rather unusual for a pizzeria! Be careful, the site is entirely in Finnish, for a little English, see "Pizzalista".

A very good restaurant, with a warm atmosphere, which works well with regional flavours. Despite the somewhat high prices, the quality is there and it's a perfect place to try Arctic fish or reindeer specialties. The dishes first seduce the eyes, before delighting the taste buds with their finesse and quality. From the starter to the dessert, you will be won over! A fine wine list to accompany everything, with some good whisky too! The atmosphere is warm, the service is attentive... What more could you ask for?

Must visit! This small address, which has been attracting locals since 2015, is the place to go in Rovaniemi. Trendy atmosphere and Finnish bistronomy, this is a good spot to taste local specialties, deliciously revisited, at low prices. We like the warm welcome, the cosy atmosphere and the quality cuisine. The traditional Finnish salmon soup is excellent, as is the mushroom risotto. And the desserts are as good as the rest!

An underground establishment that has become fashionable in a short space of time. The atmosphere here is hipster. From the graffiti-covered entrance to the wood-panelled interior. Belly-hugging dishes, generous portions and friendly service. Note that the meat is Finnish. A fine selection of beers. For the record, as far as the name is concerned, Kustaa Vaasa, in French "Gustave ^I Vasa", was Regent of Sweden from 1521 to 1523, before becoming King of Sweden in the same year, until his death in 1560.

Ideally located between Piazza del Mercato and Piazza del Senatore, Via Tribunali offers quality pizzas at a relatively reasonable price for such a location. With the "Neapolitan Pizza" label, you can be sure of a good meal, with no unpleasant surprises. On the menu are classics such as the Margherita or the Marinara, as well as spicier ones like the Diavola (with its spicy ndjuja). It's also possible to order gluten-free pasta (for an additional charge). In short, a place where you can simply enjoy a good pizza!

Right across from the train station, a tiny restaurant that locals consider to be the best Thai in town (and even in the region). Whether you choose to eat in (with seating for 5 indoors, but large tables on the terrace, ideal for sunny days) or take away, it's up to you to understand why Thaï in Town is worth a visit! The menu features some fifteen different (and tasty!) dishes, ranging from the subtly spicy to the downright fiery. A warmly recommended delight, whatever the season.

Just before the bridge leading to the Suomenlinna Museum, there's a path leading to the yacht harbour. Directly opposite is the wonderful Valimo café, a haven of peace where you can feel at home: a large room with a log fire, sofas for children and friendly service. Open since 2018, Aune has quickly become the go-to address for locals and travelers alike when it comes to burgers in Turku. In a room with a slightly bohemian, industrial decor, all you have to do to feel good is settle down, under the watchful eye of Al, the premises mascot, royally installed in his terrarium. On the menu: three-cheese, pulled pork and bacon burgers, served with crispy potatoes. There's also a choice of salads and (good) beer. In short, loved and recommended!

Located in the harbor district, halfway between the castle and the city center, Rantakerttu is mainly known among locals for one specialty: its lunchtime burger buffet! Available to carnivores and vegetarians alike, it's not open all year round, but it's well worth a visit (keep an eye on the website to make sure you don't miss it). Apart from this particular feature, a lovely terrace, an honest selection of beer, pleasant service and pretty good burgers make this address a spot to keep your eye on.

This restaurant was voted the best restaurant in Finland! Here we are dealing with a real gastro with incredible flavours; every dish explodes in the mouth! All the ingredients come from Finland and most of them from around Tampere. In winter, they preserve the ingredients using only natural and ancestral processes that have the merit of preserving the flavours and colours. We recommend that you take the option with the wines, which are meticulously selected to best match the different dishes.

A large choice of good thick pancakes, sweet or savoury: spinach, pistou, chicken, three cheeses... On the sweet side, there is also a choice of classic spreads, sugar, banana, caramel... And also excellent choices of hot drinks. We dare you to finish your cake because it's so copious; you can bring the rest with you! The welcome is good and the decoration, a bit kitsch with a reproduction of the Sistine Chapel on the ceiling is astonishing, but we are delighted! Reservation is highly recommended.

Petronella refers to the intrepid woman journalist and adventurer known for her participation in the 1949 gold rush to the region. In 1989, Saara Mehtäjärvi created this restaurant that pays homage to her by offering a cuisine that highlights Scandinavian products by the fire. The dishes are superb and delicious: both the cep soup and the fish of the day. For the sweet side, the mille-feuille and the chocolate fondant are exquisite. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and one spends a pleasant evening there.

Baskeri et Basso is the story of two friends, Nicolas and Kalle, who decided to create a slightly authentic, rather intimate place, half wine bar and half bistro, with fresh food, a frequently updated menu and dishes that give pride of place to taste(s). The result of all this is on the plate and all around you: beautiful compositions where lamb greets beet and fennel, carpaccio arrives with a homemade mayonnaise and desserts make you want to be caught in a farandole. Right in the centre of Pori, close to the market square, Café Anton is both a pub and a very comfortable restaurant. And who says pub, also says good selection of beers! In the evenings, the atmosphere is provided by good music. As for the restaurant, go and taste the very copious and cheap lunches; the lounas is really worth it (from Monday to Friday, at lunchtime). As for the staff, they are very nice and helpful. In short, a good place to come at 11am as well as late at night until closing time to party.

Located in an old stone house in Mariehamn, the Indigo Restaurant has been there since 2004. This restaurant is ideal for romantic dinners with a menu that favours quality products and does not forget to work on its wine list and other beverages. On the^1st floor, the cosy bar also serves a bistro menu. Roasted salmon and grilled swordfish are recommended. In the summer, you can sit on the pleasant terrace, take your time, enjoy and savour the meal. The reception and service are very friendly but it can be a bit long at times.

Dino's bar welcomes you in the center of Mariehamn, just a few steps from the seafront and Miramar Park, in a slightly secluded alleyway. In the old wooden house dating from the 1860s, you'll find a cosy restaurant and a rock bar with a cool , live rock atmosphere. In summer, you can take advantage of the popular terrace. Here you can enjoy hamburgers, fish pasta and other good-for-you recipes. The dishes are good and well-stocked. There's also a pool table and pinball machines, which appeal to children and the elderly alike!

It is essential to try the perfectly prepared meatballs that are famous throughout Helsinki. Accompanied by an exquisite purée, they make an excellent meal for a small fee. You can also come here to enjoy a drink at the bar side and KuuKuu offers a sunny terrace in summer. It is recommended to book for weekends when the evenings become more lively.

It is one of the must-see places in the Finnish capital and perhaps one of the trendiest places in Helsinki. Adapt your budget accordingly... In the popular Kallio district, Juttutupa is a simple, original restaurant, more than a hundred years old, with unbeatable prices, where you can also simply enjoy a beer while listening to jazz concerts. The pizzas are huge and excellent. Housed in a tall grey stone building called "Graniittilinna", this restaurant has the distinction of having welcomed the young wolves of the Russian Revolution in exile in Helsinki... Lenin had his table there, which can still be seen today, nicknamed "the table of the revolution"!

In fact, the authentic decor of low vaulted ceilings and rough-hewn wooden tables is a real change of scenery! The waiters, dressed in traditional costumes, are almost like characters straight out of Finnish lakes and cottages. The menu features fish from the lakes and ingredients from the Finnish forest. In summer, the indoor terrace is open to the delight of tourists.

At the foot of the Uspenski Orthodox Cathedral, on the quays of the Katajanokka peninsula, Nokka is today a must, one of the best tables in Helsinki. The brick and old warehouse atmosphere combines wonderfully with the quality of the food. On the menu, chanterelles as a starter, beetroot combined with garlic cream and blinis, crab or artichokes in dishes, before discovering reindeer meat or grilled fish... Located on the ^8th floor, it's the place to go for fine dining, architecture and a superb view of the city. Alvar Aalto designed the plans in 1937, and the lamps and chairs are original. Mannerheim also had his table here. That's all there is to it... Very classy and impeccable service. The menu includes a crab salad with velouté, or a salad of crudités with winter truffles and cheese... Before indulging in a risotto or one of the excellent meats on offer, always very well accompanied. Everything is perfect.

A Russian restaurant with a good reputation. Behind the heavy bronze door, the decor of several private rooms recreates the atmosphere of the Tsarist era, to the nostalgic sounds of the balalaika. For over 40 years, this Russian restaurant has been Helsinki's best-known, and has managed to preserve its tradition and special atmosphere. Saslik reveals many secrets of Russian history. A restaurant that has stood the test of time and found its place in the local culinary landscape, without suffering from contemporary trends.

It is the only panoramic restaurant in the city, located at the top of the tower, accessible after a somewhat sportive climb in a small park with large trees. Magnificent view of course... Certainly one of the best restaurants in the city, with an elegant and luminous setting and large bay windows. The dishes are as beautiful as they are good, and they are as good as the view that is offered to us... We're in for a treat! Note: you can go up the tower for free just to admire the view, even if you don't eat in the restaurant.

From the top of the tower (168 m), the panorama of the lakes and forests surrounding the city is exceptional. The cuisine is in keeping with the setting, with dishes that have a strong Nordic flavour, in keeping with Scandinavian culinary tradition. The reindeer (with fennel) literally melts in your mouth, as does the sweet trout starter. To be able to enjoy such a meal in such a setting is a rare experience, enhanced by service that's totally up to scratch. Reservations are highly recommended!
