Practical information : Going out Channel Islands
Timetable
Pubs start to come alive around 5pm, when people leave the office, and stay open until at least 11pm (1am if they're licensed to offer live music). Some nightclubs and bars stay open until 2 or 3am.
Budget & Tips
Pints of beer cost around £5. While there are generally no " happy hours " as we know them in France, certain "beers of the month" are sometimes on special offer. The rare discotheques don't usually charge admission unless you drink.
Night transport
To get back to the hotel after a long evening, no public transport. You'll have to take a cab. For £8 or £10, you can travel into town, to Saint-Hélier or Saint-Peter-Port.
Age restrictions
As in France and the UK, the legal age for entering an establishment serving alcohol alone is 18.
Smokers
As in France, smoking is banned in pubs and nightclubs. Except on the terrace, of course.
