Jersey, the largest of the islands, offers numerous hiking trails along its cliffs, through its flower-filled countryside and up to the fortifications and dolmens that bear witness to its history. Guernsey, a little smaller, is famous for having welcomed Victor Hugo in exile, and offers a rustic landscape transformed into a flowerbed in spring. Alderney, less touristy, is easily accessible thanks to its airport. Sercq and Herm seem frozen in time, with Sercq governed by a seigneur and where motor vehicles are prohibited. The Channel Islands are a true haven of peace, ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
