The Lotus Café is located near the Puri Lukisan Museum. People come here for the food but also for the traditional Balinese dance performances that take place every night except Fridays. The cafe is still a stronghold since its opening in 1983. It is the very first one created by the Lotus chain. You can enjoy Asian and international cuisine sitting on bamboo seats with more than 80% of the dishes being prepared à la minute and with local products. Reservations are recommended.

Feet in the sand (almost in water), under trees, here is a popular restaurant famous for its satay, cheap fish and Indonesian or Chinese dishes. Skewers and grills are served on a small artisan table barbecue (clay) and, rare apart from Jimbaran, coconut hulls serve as fuel. Children's dance show Saturday evening. Very reasonable price and friendly atmosphere.

A little warung with everything to please! With a well-stocked menu, you'll find everything. A little tip: order the chicken pa'piong speciality in advance, ideally at lunchtime, so that you can enjoy it at dinner. The atmosphere is top-notch, so don't hesitate to pick up your guitar to liven up the evening. What's more, the service is adorable and efficient. And the icing on the cake: a delicious fruit salad for dessert. Price-wise, it's very affordable, and the portions are generous, especially the rice dishes. They also prepare beef to order.

A popular room for its very good fresh fish. 

Located on Batu Bolong beach in Senggigi, Café Alberto offers breathtaking views and a unique universe. The hotel is built around an outdoor swimming pool and restaurant terrace. Rooms are simple but well appointed, with huge beds measuring at least 2.2 meters. Some have sea views. The restaurant serves delicious Italian and Indonesian cuisine, and you can relax on the sunny terrace with your feet in the sand. A perfect stopover for exploring the Senggigi region and surrounding area.

Biru Café remains an excellent stopover on the Batur road with Thai and Indian cuisine, as well as tandoori and chicken curries. The room is lovely and the kitchen really good.

A few steps from Kuta's crowd, it is a good idea to find yourself in this small, cosy restaurant, in order to taste a fairly international cuisine with an emphasis on baked pizza pizzas. The lotus pond at the entrance promotes the calm atmosphere of the place upon arrival. Lotus Garden takes part in the Lotus mode in all of Bali, and recalls in particular that of Ubud, also in the heart of the city.

Very good wood fire pizzas (a bit expensive), burgers and tex mex specialities in this large, long-established bar-restaurant, whose décor recalls a Far west ranch. Always lively, even late in the evening.

Hosted by Chinese, it is one of the most famous places in the city to eat fish and seafood. You choose them in a tray and then you decide the sauce that les them. The decor is quite spartan, but we eat from the lobster to all the sauces. Unfortunately, barbecue burns charcoal, not coconut hulls like Jimbaran, and it's less tasty.

Renowned for its exceptional fish, this establishment offers a particularly pleasant interior, also attracting an international clientele. We highly recommend you try the Soto Betawi beef soup, expertly concocted in a spice-scented coconut milk broth and served with fried shallots, sambal (hot pepper sauce) and sometimes hard-boiled eggs. Bakso kuah (meatballs) are also delicious. A variety of traditional Indonesian sweets are also available.

European, Indonesian and Chinese cuisine. Colonial architecture and airy terrace. Tip-top here means "perfect". Expatriates usually hang out in the air-conditioned back room. The menu includes grilled meats, rice and fried chicken, gado-gado and soups, as well as chocolate cakes, sorbets, ice creams and many pastries. The rissoles are said to be delicious. Open since 1934, this Medan institution may have aged a little, but it's still well worth a visit.
