Budget & Tips
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a real "nature" destination. There is no lack of hiking opportunities. As well as ski resorts, bird sanctuaries, primary forests... In the city, some public parks are equipped with outdoor exercise machines. In Sarajevo, the Wilson promenade is a nice place to go jogging along the Miljacka river. Be careful with your lungs though: this is the most polluted capital in Europe. Also be careful while hiking because of the presence of antipersonnel mines since the 1992-1995 war. In these pages, we give you the prices and our advice for most of the activities. Skiing is mainly practiced at the ski resorts of Jaohrina and Bjelašnica, near Sarajevo. The four sites for rafting are the Vrbas Valley near Banja Luka, the Una National Park near Bihać, the Tara Canyon near Foča, and the Neretva River from Konjic. Climbing spots can be found especially in Šipovo, Blagaj, Livno and the Vrbas Valley. You can take off in a hot air balloon from the Blidinje Nature Park.
