AMFORA

Croatian restaurant €€
4.3/5
25 reviews
Open - from 10h00 to 18h00

In Dubrovnik, you can also escape the crowded streets of the historic city and find some good addresses. To do so, you have to go where the locals live, in the Gruž market district, among other places. Here, at Amfora, the cuisine is rather refined. The chef is just as keen on fish as he is on meat: tuna steak or tartare, black risotto, octopus, lamb, as well as soups and a few vegetarian options. For dessert: rozata, panna cotta or a plate of Croatian cheeses. Impeccable service. A lovely terrace on the other side of the restaurant.

KONOBA TARSA

Croatian restaurant €€
4.5/5
25 reviews
Open - from 10h30 to 00h00

This konoba has really kept the traditional atmosphere of a tavern. We like the two dining rooms with their decorative elements: ironwork, woodwork, stoneware pots on the fireplace shelf, paintings and old photos on the walls. Even the menu is evocative of historical Rijeka. On the menu, all the classics of Croatian cuisine: fish buzara, fuži pasta with white truffle, squid ink risotto, grilled meats, blitva, cooking under peka, house brandy. Only the desserts are not special. Beautiful panoramic terrace.

KONOBA FRAN KRSTO FRANKOPAN

Croatian restaurant €€

In the Frankopan Castle (late Renaissance), which can be visited, the konoba is more than a tavern. It is a large restaurant, installed in an exceptional setting, the royal court. It often organizes family celebrations (religious parties, birthdays, weddings). In fact, it is better to reserve before going there. On the menu, a variety of southern salads, grilled meat and fish dishes, oven baked, pasta and risottos and pancakes for dessert.

WINE CORNER

Croatian restaurant €€
4.8/5
25 reviews
Open - from 10h00 to 02h00

Located in an alleyway off the main street, this wine bar is appreciated for its good atmosphere and friendly welcome. The quality of its wines is also an argument in its favor; don't hesitate to ask for advice on regional vintages, such as a good Malvasia. The place remains very popular thanks to its large, full salads, fish and seafood platters and, above all, for its platters of local cheeses and charcuterie. Some say they've diminished in quantity, but they're still generous and fresh.

KONOBA AQUARIUS GARDEN

Croatian restaurant €€

Recommended by Anne Femica, our expert guide who knows her city well, the konoba is one of Dubrovnik's well-kept secrets. Far from the hustle and bustle of the central squares and streets, the courtyard terrace is well shaded under its pergola. The friendly waiters explain the menu to you. Tagliatelle or black risotto with squid ink, as soft as you like, tasting tray with assorted fish, seafood and grilled vegetables, interesting vegetarian dishes (soy wok, grilled vegetables, vegan risotto or tagliatelle), local wine by the glass. Good address!

To reach the Panorama, if you don't have a car, you'll have to call a cab or go directly to the restaurant when you reserve your table (recommended), and we'll pick you up in town (free service). In the kitchen, traditional Dalmatian recipes, grilled fish, meat and vegetables, pašticada, gnocchi and, last but not least, gourmet desserts. Good local red wines.

LA ŠTRUK RESTORAN

Croatian restaurant
4.3/5

Open - from 11h00 to 22h00

When you are in Zagreb, you have to taste the štruk! Some restaurants in town offer it but here we eat only that! This local speciality is a kind of lasagne or gratin dauphinois, which is served with vegetables, cheese, cream or pasta, all baked in the oven. It's finally friendly to eat the same thing, only in appearance since everyone can choose their own garnish. This dish is also available in a sweet version. Theapple and cinnamon štrukli, served in autumn, reminds a bit of the German Apfelstrudel.

This konoba (not to be confused with Tri Bunara pizzeria) has become one of the city's most popular restaurants. With dine & wine added to the establishment's name, you can feel the taste for new combinations in the kitchen, while still using traditional Dalmatian recipes( braised beefpašticada and vegetable marinade with gnocchi). Local produce such as figs and cranberries are used in the sweet and sour sauce and the sweet and sour sauce around the meat. Fresh homemade pasta is revisited, and the desserts are excellent.

VILLA SPIZA

A small intimate restaurant in a pedestrian alley in Split. Sitting at the bar or on small tables, you can enjoy the good Dalmatian cuisine skilfully concocted by the attentive chef, consisting of local charcuterie, meat or fish, shellfish, stew, pea soup. A beautiful variety that should satisfy all the guests. Villa Spiza is an authentic address, appreciated by the locals, with a good atmosphere, very much in demand and a quality service, with the smile of the waiters as a bonus. But there are only a few tables, first come, first served!

Its privileged location pleases the regulars, who also come for hot and cold drinks. Traditional Croatian dishes are served here, grilled meats, including lamb or veal peka, cooked over a wood fire, pasta with black truffles or more simply a plate of cold meats and Dalmatian cheeses accompanied by regional or Italian wines. RESTORAN POLJANA

At Entrance II, in the center of the park, this café-bar-restaurant lives to the rhythm of the national park. Self-service or table service, for simple cuisine based on local dishes. Try the trout with vegetables, for example... For hikers and walkers on the way back, hot and cold drinks, ice creams, sweet crepes and pastries are available. Live music. The view of the upper lakes from the terrace is splendid, but the exclusive restaurant charges high prices.
