CHEZ SAMI

Lebanese restaurant €€
5/5
21 reviews

The flavours of the cedar country exalt in this restaurant run by Sami. A large, welcoming and modern room with high ceilings that enlarge the space, and a life-size decorated cow that welcomes you to savour the mezze. A family Lebanese cuisine, tasty and very copious that respects the tradition of good hospitality. The subtle taste of spices is hidden in the moutabla (eggplant caviar), the labné (curdled white cheese), the foul medamas (crushed cooked beans)... The grills (kaftas, chawarma lahmé...) are a delight!

LE DIWANE

Lebanese restaurant
4.6/5
25 reviews

A cuisine of the heart and the sun, a reference in Geneva in terms of Lebanese cuisine. The setting is classic and neat and the cuisine is tasty. The mezze are delicious and generous: we like the raw meat specialties: kibbe naye and tableh naye (raw beef specialties without fat in tartar, the unctuous hommos bil lahme. A delight! The dishes are of high quality, and the prices are quite correct. A good address to learn about the flavours of the cedar country and share a whole table of small dishes to pick up!

NOMADES

Lebanese restaurant
4.5/5
23 reviews

In a setting with warm colors, you can enjoy a good cuisine from Morocco and Lebanon. Thus, we enjoy couscous, keftas, tagines served in large dishes, mezzes..., all in a dimmed atmosphere for an oriental flight. You can smoke a hookah on the summer terrace and be tempted by the oriental desserts (under the sign of sugar!). A small journey to let our senses discover spices from elsewhere, in the district of the Caves, ultra lively and really nice. In the dining room, the only drawback is that it is a bit noisy.

LE FIGUIER

Lebanese restaurant
4.7/5
3 reviews

This is guaranteed under the branches of the fig tree which gives its name to the restaurant. A few steps from the Servette, in a very quiet street, Salam warmly welcomes all lovers of middle eastern cuisine. In the absence of indoor space, we eat on the mosaic tables of the lovely terrace in summer and in a tent heated in winter, waiting better, perhaps… Difficult to make its choice between different kinds of mezze and above all a large number of original hot and cold dishes, such as cabbage cabbage, lamb stew to okras and coriander, vegetarian kebbé, the aubergines salad… accompanied by an excellent manaïche, sort of galette to thyme. Also 13 CHF to take or CHF 17 on site. It's all home and very fresh. Also to take or in catering service.

LE PALAIS-ORIENTAL

This restaurant has a very good reputation. Departure for Iran and Iranian gastronomy, which we're discovering as we don't always get to enjoy it on a trip to Iran, apart from the kebabs offered mainly in local restaurants. This establishment boasts a rich menu of refined Oriental cuisine, including delicious Lebanese mezze, in a refined Moroccan-inspired setting. Set in front of the Montreux promenade, the terrace is a delight in summer. On the second floor of the Palais, numerous exhibitions are held each year.

An excellent kebab! Once in Scanavin Square, you can't miss the little white Syrian tent. Set up here in both winter and summer, it adjoins the restaurant's small dining room. Inside, the warm welcome of manager Ahmad Badawi, the spices and chichas transport us to the Middle East. Excellent value for money. For dessert, you'll be spoilt for choice, as the display case abounds with pastries, not forgetting to accompany them with the traditional glass of mint tea that we're so pleased to enjoy in the Middle East.

KUTCHI

Afghan restaurant €€
4/5
1 review

Healthy taste escape in a "nomadic" atmosphere. Let the flavours of Kutchi feed our imagination. "Kutchi" is a name that means "nomad" in Dari, one of the languages of Afghanistan. So you're off on a journey to the land of spices, family and colourful dishes from India to Iran. You have the choice between 3 different atmospheres: the Afghan room with its traditional decor with its small wooden chairs, red cushions and its intimate universe, the Sunflower room with its bright and summery colours and more contemporary, or the Classic room which offers a more elegant seating in warm and classic tones. Whatever your choice of space, the menu takes you to exotic flavours and fragrances. Head to the "Kutchi" tasting menu for an authentic overview of the specialties of Afghan cuisine. In a beautiful tasting plate, you will be served: the three rice with saffron, spinach and finely spiced broth, the meat with koftas minced meatballs, Lawand chicken curry, the Korma Matar minced beef and peas and the Dopiaza: pieces of lamb and fried onions served with Afghan naan (bread). A refined presentation in an elegant setting for a culinary expedition at a very soft price that will spice up your life! And if the evening meal lingers, the Kutchi Hotel is just around the corner! Much appreciated in summer for the terrace.
